  • Losing a bit of momentum now. I think I am a bit depressed that no one has viewed the house yet and it has been on the market for 2 weeks now.

It took me until 2 oclock today to make a start on some drawers upstairs but finally got them sorted and stuff thrown out so with some bits & pieces that I have got rid of over the week I am now at 13 for March.

The good thing is hubby has agreed that next weekend we will sort the rafters of the garage out. I keep putting it off but no excuse now. I haven't told him yet that I want the loft cleared first so there is nothing up there.

    Various out of date medicines
Approx 50 computer cds from magazines
4 more boxes of floppy discs
    Garden bench
    Various bits of paper
    An unused computer lead
1 computer mouse (with an out of date connector)
    1 cheap alarm clock
    10 audio cassettes
    1 dead pot plant

    61. Plastic storage basket
    62. plastic stacking box
    63. (sigh) my shabby chic'd trolley that I just shoved into a corner and filled with clutter ... the shop people seemed very pleased with it. All that sanding and F&B paint wouldn't go to waste, I hope
    64. another plate - binned as it was chipped

BTW, for any procrastinators, the YMCA charity furniture shop is opened on Sundays so no need to wait till Monday and change your mind :o

Really need to get off my butt and declutter, as suddenly realised that March is a flying by but nothing is leaving the house:rotfl:, so today I decluttered the wardrobes of DS1 and DS2, to much grumbling and objecting as I made them try everything on:rotfl:, and can report my efforts for today.

Got rid of 3 pairs of size 20 trousers today, that are now too big as I have lost a stone:jwith Weightwatchers.

Well done on the weight loss and getting rid of the too big clothes, I'm always reluctant to get rid of my size 16s when I lose weight in case I put it back on again, (as I inevitably do ), but I'm hoping to get down to a size 12 again, hopefully by the summer, and then I will definitely get rid of them!

This is true, unfortunately I've always had a thing about collecting key rings and have loads, but as I can only have so many on my keys I am now planning to make a display of them on a board. I think I have a large cork board in one of the sheds, which used to be in DS's room, and when we get around to sorting the shed I'll use that if I find it. At the moment the shed is so full of toot that it's impossible to find anything!

Today OH went to the dump and got rid of about 10 vacuum cleaner handles from his stash of spares, an old broken security clamp from my car, a bag of old keys and various other bits of metal, a pile of used recordable CDs, and some tatty socks/undies for textile recycling. I also had another sort out in one of the sheds, found my staple gun and a plughole unblocker, which I've now put in the small shed so I can get to them easier when they are needed, and emptied a box containing kitchen items, which have been in the shed for about 3 years since we had the kitchen refitted. Now I've cleared so much stuff from the house, I have room to store them in the house so they may get used, a couple of bits I may give to DS or send to CS, but I will count them as outs if and when they go. I can count the empty box as that is now in the green waste bin.

Tidying today rather than decluttering. I have however put a few plastic bottles in the recycling bin along with some paper and some house rubbish in the wheelie bin.
I had decluttered the ironing pile but it now has a few things in that have been out on the washing line.
My aim this week is to declutter the understairs cupboard, it contains some campimg stuff, coats and goodness knows what else.

    Have a lovely evening.

Crikey everybody busy today must be that Spring feeling :)
As we have to shift a humungus mound of wood chips that were dumped in our garden just before Christmas - think we had just got use to the blue tarp hiding it - we have been busy in the garden. SO I have binned a seed tray and 4 plant pots which is a drop in the ocean of what we actually have and don't need but these where picked up along the way rather than part of a concerted effort IYSWIM. Also binned a bag of lawn fertilizer which we opened and used very little and has now got a lawn of its own growing in it :rotfl: - we are just kidding ourselves we have 'lawns' - grassed areas with a lot of moss, which we like :p

So in the great scheme of things not a lot but we enjoyed the welcome and warm sunshine :)

Oh no! I hope things pick up for you soon. :) Just about to put ours on the market as well so will have to see.

Given OH his list of jobs for tomorrow - think he's probably forgotten them already but as long as he does something besides sit on the PC all day it will be a bonus.
How long til pay day?

Hi, Think I joined in the 2011 declutter but lost my momentum :o
Had a big -ish sort out of upstairs today and yesterday, my room and DD1 & 2's room, so now have,
3 bags of clothes for charity shop
2 bags of toys for nursery
1 bag of books for nursery which will all leave the house tuesday when I use the car.
The clutter is just spread everywhere and with the girls theres alot of toot , little bits that don't necessarily (sp?) need to chucked but just don't have a home!
Plus I get sentimental about things and then don't know whether to get rid of them or not then they just sit in my room aka the dumping ground.
Really want to get all sorted and tidied as not sure where we will be living this summer - moving house or staying put -and I don't want to be carting boxes of carp with me!
But I do quite like having a good declutter so I guess I'd miss doing it if everything was perfect, thats going to be my excuse anyway:o
