Been a lurker on here for a while, whilst trying to declutter home.

DH has finally realised what an impact the mess is having on us & the children & has started decluttering his things both indoors & out (men & cables!!!! for things we no longer even own)

It is making such a difference & is spurring me on to have a big purge again. The boxes that were for carbooting in warm weather have just been freecycled or gone to charity shop & the feeling is just great - to be able to walk around my bedroom without negotiating an obstacle course.

Thanks for all of the inspiration, I finally feel that there will be an end in sight

I decided to post those 7 parcels today. Going to work on my spreadsheet again so I can work out how much I have made . Might get round to listing some more stuff later.

I got lots in today, I got about 30 beauty samples in the post! I used to spend so much on beauty products but now I refuse to spend anything :T

I am counting my charity bag collection as a 10 - it was probably more but its a nice round number to get March decluttering off to a good start :)

I had a bit of a splurge at the weekend, and sorted some piles of papers and old letters, shredding/recycling or filing!

On Sunday, I cleared out two cupboards in the kitchen, binning lots of very out of date medicines and packets of things I will never use. Got rid of so much I lost count!

    Will guess at the numbers

    14 - 24 letters files or shredded
25 - 45 bits from the kitchen cupboards
    46 - 48 ebay parcels posted
    49 ebay collection

Still not noticing much difference yet - plenty more to do!

Not much moving out at the moment as people are taking over 5 days to pay for things on eBay. Is really annoying me to be honest. Got many more items to list and more to do but have no energy at all at the moment. Am off on holiday in 2 and a half weeks so am not listing anything new until I get back.

    Ditch 100 in March 98/100

Haven't managed a great deal over the last couple of days as have been feeling really low. The little I have done is

    96 1 x Plastic Storage Box - School
    97 3 x Cardbord Photo Mounts - School
98 Lots of photos binned (all loose photos have now been put in albums or frames and the rest binned)

Now all the photos are finally sorted, Im aiming to go through all the articles and inspiration pics I've torn from magazines. I have never felt so organised, thanks for all your support and inspiration, it really does help :T

Sorted through my old knitting/crochet patterns and put 29 of them in the CS box
went through the 'drawer of doom' in the lounge unit (again!) and filed/shredded/recycled a pile of paperwork
    8 batteries - recycled
2 ebay parcels posted today (waiting for payment on another item)
a box, some bubble wrap, and parcel paper used on parcels
    wooden spatula - binned
emptied my handbag so I could sew up a split in the lining (I kept losing my keys in the lining!), and got rid of a few shopping lists

    Ditch 100 in March 26/100
    Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

  • After all that effort decluttering before the move, we've moved all our boxes to find that it doesn't all fit in the new house! So last night we started again, being even more ruthless, and have managed 5 boxes full of carp to go to the tip! Plus 3 outgrown kids jumpers and 14 purses/small bags to school for their jumble sale. Much more chucking to follow - it's DS1s birthday on Tuesday and we always have my dad round for tea, so it needs to presentable by then......no pressure:rotfl:
Hoping to report back soon with much more to report.
