It's been a busy few days & nights here lately so I haven't been able to declutter much! However there should be someone coming to pick up some items from me that I'm selling on a fb group atm, so that will be good to get a few things decluttered...

So far in March I have managed to

Items already in house at beginning of March

    Shred 26 items
    Recycle ( card/ paper) 42 items
    File 36 items
    Magazines recycle 1
    Catalogues recycle 1

Disappointed that haven't managed to declutter as much old paper work as I had hoped.

Never mind have done quite well with the paper work that has come into the house in March, so not adding too much to the paper mountain in the house.

I have also dealt with most of the post/papers that has come into the house in March
    Shredded 10 item
    recycled 36 items
    Magazines/newspapers 5
    Catalogues

    Rest in pending pile!!

Not managed to remove the pile of paper work on the dining room table yet. Have inlaws coming on Sunday so need to clear by then and not into one of my carrier bags for sorting later. I think that should be my only aim for this week!!!!

I have to confess that while I was tidying my bedroom I did empty the pile of carp which had accumulated on top of my chest of drawers into a carrier bag - oops bad I know. I feel better now that I have confessed!!

    Also decluttered

13 Trek mat sold on ebay
14 Sleeping bag sold on ebay
    15 Toy sold on ebay

I have slowed down very much with the decluttering. Although I have emptied the bottom of my wardrobe into the study, so I can actually see the bottom of my wardrobe and shoes. I just have am mountain of bags and boxes to sort in the study!! Never mind he ho today is another day
But reading all the posts everyone seems to have started March with a Spring in their step. Well done to everyone, it is posting on this thread that has inspired me to such a start and keep up decluttering

Anyway all these lapses were last week and today is the start of a new week so onwards and outwards (for the decluttering) one hopes

I have just decluttered 15 jam jars and 150 plant pots and seed trays on Freegle.
Next job is to sort some teddies and other soft toys for another freegler who collects them.
I am not sure how to add so many items to my 100 list. Maybe the seed trays should be one and the plant pots another.

Mind if I join in? I'm not moving or anything, but it would be lovely to have enough room to store the things we DO want and use!

I'll aim to declutter 50 items this month. So, as a start:

1 large bag of junk mail/magazines.catalogues going back 2 years recycled
2 large bag of rubbish (paper/plastic bags not suitable for recycling) binned
3 bin bag full of shoes not fit for anyone to wear - binned
4 bin bag of full of shoes for rag/shoe recycling bin
5 pile of failed watercolours recycled
6 cardboard box with very old, forgotten flower bulbs binned

Not a bad start but so much more to do!
  • I'm going to jump right on in here if that's okay. I need to join this thread I think to get motivated as I've got so much clutter and general junk indoors. I'm aiming to declutter 30 things this month. Started this morning by putting out:
    1. 1 charity bag full of unwanted clothes.

    Will post more later on.

Slowed down a bit today as I'm aching after yesterdays onslaught. Have hit the 100 already so I'm concentrating on tidying and if I come across anything along the way that can be got rid of so be it.

107-115 t-shirts. (Time to accept that I don't actually wear t-shirts. There are only 3 that I actually wear)
116-119 handbags. Retiring a load of these. Decided to use my fancy ones more instead of saving them for a special occaision that never comes...
    120 sweatshirt
    121-123 vests
124 mobile phone, so old it probably runs on steam power...
    125. plastic crate with a crack in it
    126. Old address book
    127. Sorted out mountain of post that's been sitting on the stairs
    128. Old ice cream tubs. Got nothing to keep in them now!

  • I can't really do much at the moment as I go on holiday soon so don't want to relist/list anything on eBay as I can only post up to a certain date. I have an overflowing box for when I get back, found loads of stuff to put on there!

Just a couple today have been mostly working, but at home:

Mum's Knicks (lol, she was staying here couple of weeks ago just goes to show how long it's been since I got to the bottom of the laundry basket!)
    Mums sheet (ditto)
A-Z Index book (to mum as a thank you for collecting her things, lol)
    Brown bin finally emptied, yaay!

    60/100

Think mum has finally taken all her stuff. She seemed a bit disappointed that I was coping without her, but we had to get back to "normal" some time...

Only one to report for today, work, then sorting dinner, then school pick up, then food shopping followed by swimming kind of hampered my efforts:rotfl:.

    12. Pot of rosin to friend whose daughter is learning the violin:eek:, rather her than me;).

  • Just took a load of stuff that was going to the charity shop (eventually) to a family who've just moved into a house with nothing. Starting to be able to see the bed and floor in the spare room!
