Hi can I join
My house is a mess, we are living in a renovation project and I'm tired of all the junk!
OH - who hates chucking things out in case they come in useful - is away at the moment so I have a chance to get rid of some stuff. I think it was being at his parents house that made me crack and throw things away because his dad hoards stuff to a scary extent (there are walls made out of boxes in the flat and you have to turn sideways to go down corridors and it makes me wince)
I purged my wardrobe last week - it now looks amazing and even though I got rid of two bin liners full of stuff I actually find I am using more of my clothes because I can find things!
I put the shower quadrant on freecycle this afternoon and it has just been collected, whihc is great as I can now move in the hall!
I put a chest of drawers on ebay as well, as well as a duplicate minifigure and a pair of DM's that don't fit me. I have two other bits of furniture to go on ebay, along with some formal clothes, and a German linguaphone course.
I listed a computer game on Amazon and sold it within 45 minsI aslo listed an unused wedding cake knife as well - bought originally as a back up for a friends wedding because I wasn't sure if her caterer would bring one.
I have some craft stuff to freecycle in a second as well - I have an inordinate amount of craft junk! Last time I looked, there were over twenty kilos of buttons :embarasse:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
managing to stick to my 15 mins a day. progress is s-l-o-w but i'm organising as I go along. got shot of a few of my old books, some on the CS pile, others have been disposed of as they weren't in good enough nick to pass on. Started putting paper supplies into better order. Have started using up notebooks I already own for recording new year challenges, rather than go buying something specially.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0

Reporting in to say I've taken down the xmas decs and thoroughly vacuumed the living room, cleared the dining table and took up some of DGS xmas presents to his room. Also emptied a 3 drawer filing cabinet and discovered I have an envelope obsession. Don't think I'll ever need to buy another envelope ever! I've put all my stationery (mostly envelopes!) in a box and relocated it to under the computer table. The drawer unit however remains without a home (currently sitting beside the TV) and is patiently awaiting relocation to DS2's room but I first need to empty the drawers in there that are falling apart....Official DFW nerd - 282 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts'

i always have good intentions for the holidays but never quite get round to do more than one job - you'd think i would learn. Girls go back weds so i know i'll tackle some but i get really angry/depressed when i can't sit in a tidy house. I've got coursework to do for my course and i'm doing a gcse science exam mid Jan and the book i've to start to look at is some where in a box that i was going to tidy!
think i'm goind to do my advert thing and then re write a realistic list.
My advert thing is.. find a programme i want to watch [either live or pre recorded] and when the adverts come on tidy up/do as much as possible as quick as possible. It works for me!!Don’t put it down - put it away!

Hello
Looks like I've found some like-minded peopleJust reading posts so far has inspired me and put ideas into my head (oh yes, never thought of that, etc).
I started de-cluttering last month - partly cos my teenage girls were having their mates round and one of the chairs in the lounge had got swallowed up by junk!
Chucked out piles of videos and roped in OH to help me carry bags of kids books, outgrown clothes etc to the charity shop. I also donated 8 carrier bags of nick nacks and books, etc to our local guinea pig rescue place to sell. Consequently we now have space for 4 people to sit in the lounge and some room to move.
However, I had to move the sofa back so ds could play on the xbox kinnect (his xmas pressie) - but its now partially blocking the way to the front door! So I need to carry on decluttering so I can move the furniture round. Also we have wardrobes in storage, but I need to sort out our bedroom first so that we can get them in!
I could probably do with posting photos to shame and spur me into action...but I'm far too embarassed
Look forward to getting to know some of you better :j

Try Freegle instead. Some of the local freecycle groups closed when the USA owners were trying to impose too many rules etc. A lot of them then reopened as freegle sites....maybe thats whats happened to your local one too?XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:wave:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX0
