Just did one hour of decluttering two shelves of my wardrobe! Now got a pile for the bin, another pile for CS and a third pile for the mega-shredder when the school office reopens. :j

It took a bit longer as I had to go through every piece of paper to make sure I wasn't throwing out important stuff.

Will ask a friend to eBay three Radley bags I don't use anymore - I keep on searching for the perfect bag, buying a new one and then reverting to the tatty old one which I long to replace but can't find a good enough replacement. :o

Right - off to dump and then hope that the CS is open today.

    I enjoy reading everyone's efforts!

Can I join in too please?

My house is a cluttered nightmare! I suppose the task of clearing it all is so big it's putting me off!

But today I'm going to start, firstly with the decorations, then see what else happens.

I'm also going to write in my diary each day what I've managed to get rid of, so hopefully I can look back and see my progress...

    Wish me luck....:o

I need to join in please. I am moving house at the end of Feb and have soooo much to sort out!

I am going to a house with 3 more bedrooms than I have now, but need not to use this as an excuse to keep things.

I also need to get over the whole sentimental attachment to things.

    HELP ME! :j

    Hello all!
I will be joining in this year.
I'm not a bad clutter hoarder, in fact my biggest problem is I have NOWHERE to store things as we don't have much storage!
So in 2012 I will get rid of the unwanted things, or broken things and find a suitable place to put things I will keep.
Our kitchen will be having 5 units added to it to keep work surfaces and top of cabinets clear.
We will open up the pantry from our dining room to create storage for hoover, ironing board etc.
We will hopefully board out loft to put little ones moses basket etc in.
And lastly I hope to sort out the inside of our wardrobe to create a practical space rather than a dumping ground.
If I can do all of the above I know I can effectively declutter.

    Afternoon

I had a little read of the thread this morning and it motivated me to make a start before I have to go to work. All decs are back up the attic and the dining room table is clear, polished with a fresh cloth ready to have dinner tonight.

Next job will be the kitchen on my day off Thursday

Hope everyone has a lovely day x

Just offered a load of gardening mags on my local to work Freegle and had someone interested so they will go on Tuesday.

I have arranged via Freegle to pick up some gardening mags from someone's workplace tomorrow, wonder if that's you?!:rotfl:
To make up for the mags coming in, I have been doing some decluttering. Someone is coming to collect a baby door bouncer later, an old suitcase and cardboard boxes from the loft are in the car awaiting a trip to the dump tomorrow, and I have some things selling on ebay. Other bits and pieces are being put in bags for the CS and next Cats Protection fete etc. The problem is that when the OH goes back to work tomorrow things will come to a halt as he has been looking after DS2 who is an expert mess maker!

Well, I'm still going! Had a general tidy up like you do and accumulated enough stuff for another charity shop bag! They are going to love me at the BHF. :)

I really belong to the messy thread.

My home is cluttered, so I took the bull by the horns, had a quick look round and shove some stuff on Ebay, it never ceases to amaze me what people will buy and in the process I have current bids standing at £245.00 on 68 items, anyone fancy doing the wrapping?

I must get the christmas decs moved off the dining table, it is beginning to annoy me.

I must get on, but I'll have just another coffee before starting:D

:D I'm taking a break as I don't want to burn out the motor on my wee shredder but I have been filleting my file box and have gone back thru several years' landline bills and shredded some, kept some with one clear side for scratch paper pads (I actually do use these and have a proper system for processing paperwork) and have kept the top-sheet only.

:o I should probably shred these, too, but am easing up to it. I find it's helpful to have a few recent bills as proofs of address for various thingies, but probably should downsize from 6 years' worth to 1 years' worth. Easing into it.

I'm cooling my heels at the homestead waiting for various Freecyclers but the big thing went on schedule, so the worst is gone. Just a bit curious about the whereabouts of the lass who'd be here "within the hour" and that was nearly 3 hours ago.

That'll be one of those alien abductions, I expect.;) Joking aside, it's a touch annoying as I'll be back at work tomorrow and was hoping to get rid today.

I have applied some more paint to a wall, which will lead towards the happy de-junking of a paint can, and am about to re-organise the underbed area.

Anyway, it'll let the shredder rest and cool down but I may have a bit more fodder for it later.

Keep up the good de-cluttering - you're inspiring!
