    Hello fellow declutterers :)

I've not been posting for a while. I used to post here loads! Did a huge declutter in the summer last year. Really made headway. Did sort the kitchen in particular.
    :j

This weekend did a blitz on paperwork and burnt a load of papers in our burner outside. That felt good!
    :T
Still a long way to go. Will catch up on what you're all doing and then set my declutter goals.

  • This looks so theraputic! I am doing a cupboard a week. Besides that, got rid of a massive carrier bag of children's books today to take to school for their 'library'.

I still have a bag of clothes which are a size too big for me now, (and have been for about 2 years) and if I get to where I want to be weight wise, they will be 2-3 sizes too big, but I've still not been brave enough to get rid of them. I'm determined to never go back to that size, so there seems no point in keeping them, but I've said that plenty of times in the past, and the weight still goes back on!

I totally understand! I've just bagged another 22 items of clothing for the charity shop and 18 of assorted underwear/hosiery for the bin. I've had some of these clothes for ages and they've been in and out of the loft and spare room. I need the space more than the clothes and getting rid of them is a positive step towards keeping the weight off.

If I'd been brave enough in January I would have managed to ditch 100 items!

All the best with your weight loss - it's hard but worth it! :)

  • I started packing on Friday night - we haven't had the go-ahead yet, but IF everything goes ok we'll be getting keys on the 20th, so it needed doing. It's amazing what you can get rid of when the alternative is packing, moving, deciding where it will go, and unpacking it again!:rotfl:We've got rid of:
several pictures by DS3 - he'll never notice as he brings home half a tree every day from playschool!
3 magazines into recycling - didn't even check them for recipes etc
4 different Burger King toys that won;t be missed by anyone
money-sorting machine going to other school for fete
2 different candle holders also to school
plus large amounts of random carp - those wretched fish get everywhere!
PLUS 29 boxes packed and stacked ready to go...
    Updating sig now...

    Ditch 100 in February 10 / 100

So I was at 10 yesterday including a bottle of tequila given back to my father in law.

    Today I have cleared
    Pair of champagne flutes (cs)
    Crystal wine stopper (eb@y)
3 plastic tubs that had lost lids (bin)
A toy knife from a kiddy picnic set (bin)
Couple of toys grown out of (cs)

I tidied and cleaned the inside of two kitchen cupboards. Will be popping the cs things up tomorrow morning.

Glad im not the only one with stuff to get rid of.

The beginning of this year i have moved all the stuff i don't need onto my bed sold some of it made 40ish quid although 34 of that will have to be sent back since buyer wasn't happy :( Lost some money due to making guestimates on packages weight etc so not too good.

On the bright side i have bought some scales made a parcel measuring board and organised everything ready for the next big free listing day.

Just going through a few more bits and pieces, looking for anything of value to sell really.
I have managed to rehouse 6 books to Zapper, 3 books to Amazon and listed a dress on ebay.
I want to sort through and label things ready for next nct sale. I always find it disheartening though, as so much stuff gets sent, only for me to have to collect most of it again at the end of the day :(.
Now I have got rid of alot of worthless junk from the house, I am able to see what I can earn a bit back from.

    February total: 38/100

Yesterday I did a bit more; I threw away my veil from my wedding dress. It's been driving me crazy for the last few years, it got ripped on the day and I'm never going to use it again and can't sell it so out it's gone. I also ditched some other bits of toot so am declaring 6 items.
    So; February total 44/100
    Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.
    MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.
    2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.
