    101. Record player cabinet (could house many things so still useful) to YMCA furniture shop.
    102. Stereo (missing speakers!) outside ready to go to the tip.

Records are sitting looking lost in boxes ...such ahppy memories! Remember when we used to stick the covers up as wall decorations? Can't do that with a CD, and certainly not with a download ....:o

    Ditch 100 / 102 :rotfl:

    58. Bag of general carp - bin
    59. One pack of slightly ood mince..gone brown...fried up for one VERY lucky dog.
    60. 8 conkers that have 'graced' my coffee table since autumn......why?

It's a plastic jug where you put a plastic bag of milk in. There is a spike in the jug that pierces the bag as you close the lid.Only some supermarkets sell the bags and washing the jug each time is a faff. Luckily it was recyclable plastic.

My biggest hurdle was The Shed. I've lost about 3 st :)

I sorted our small shed out a while back, which houses all our decorating equipment, amongst other things and was a tip, now I can go in there and find what I want almost immediately. Then I sorted out one of the big sheds, there is still a lot in there that I need to go through but at least we can get in there now. When we get some nice weather, on a weekend when OH and I are both home and have nothing else to do, we will be sorting out the other big shed, which will be a nightmare (hence I keep putting it off, lol!) but it will be worth it when it's done. Well done on the weight loss!

We recently had to replace our telly and bought a modern, thin one. I agree it's one less space to clutter, but I did miss it at Christmas - I had some decs that always sat on the telly so had to find somewhere else to put them.

MIL gave us her slim tv, when she and her OH got a bigger one because they couldn't see it from the dining table, and I was the same at Christmas, having to find somewhere for the decs to go that would usually be put on the tv.

I've got a juggit, I've only used it with the bag of milk once (and that was only because OH was given one with the jug when they first came out, as he works at Mr S), so maybe that will have to go.

Nothing else has gone out of the house, but we had 8 handles from our wardrobe doors and chests of drawers which snapped years ago (and since then we've just had a little bit of plastic left on the screws to open them with), and I've finally got around to fixing 7 of them and refitting them on the drawers and doors, so they are now no longer clutter but being used for their intended purpose, I just hope they don't break again! The other one I can't find at the moment, but the drawer it belongs to is broken (and has been for years, lol!) so that one doesn't matter so much until I get around to fixing the drawer.

  • Good effort everyone :) Awesome stuff

All my stuff on e-bay is going to sell but 2 items are going for (imo) more than they're worth. Now i'm paranoid that they're not good enough/ I haven't listed them properly. Anybody else get this weird 'feedback anxiety'? I mostly use e-bay to buy but have sold maybe a dozen things in the last year.

Got 2 friends in on a zapper/music magpie de-clutter binge and am being given £5 by each for being the organizer (and the mug who has to wait in for the courier!). Straight into the ISA it goes!
Off to see some friends tomorrow so no more decluttering for me but shall look forward to tea and a catch up on here when I return! Have a good day everyone :)

No decluttering as such to list. DD came for the bag of repairs she left here on Friday. I have been busy listing 50 items on Eb.. I sold 2 items this week - won't count them as decluttered until they are posted.

For those wondering how to 'clean' old laptops, you have 2 options.

    1) If you have your original install disks put those in and reinstall windows. As you do that it will give you the option to format your hard drive/partion. Thats the safest and easiest way to wipe the drive. Also means whoever takes on your laptop/PC gets a clean windows install.

    2) Remove the harddrive, take a hammer to it and sell or give away the laptop/PC without the harddrive in. Harddrive will come out with just a few screws. If its a PC just be sure not to touch the motherboard itself.

No decluttering this week as am currently in sunny Colorado for work, but the day before I flew out I did manage to donate two cat boxes to the local rescue, bin an old broken suitcase (why had it made its way back into the loft after our last trip I have no idea!), give away a mirror on freecycle, bin 2 old car tyres (had been offered on freecycle several times with no interest) and pass a pair of shoes I dont wear to my sister. Not bad for a busy day!

I did such a good job clearing out the downstairs cupboard that hubby is wondering if we can rip it out and regain some space in our lounge. Tempting but not sure if the space will be used effectively and would be better left as a cupboard. But then don't want to fill it for the sake of it.....plenty of thought required on that one!

Decluttering has had to go on the backburner most of this weekend as ive been in agony with the arthritis that flares up from time to time but ive had limited success in the house.

    1. Thrown out quite a few lotions and potions that no longer work for me on my face. Actually, i was surprised to find that the shampoo i buy for my men actually contains the key ingredient that my facial wash does.... Salicylic acid. I'm wondering if i can integrate it into my facial routine instead of shelling out money for face wash.

    2. Two more makeup brushes went in the bin the weekend as well as a face powder.

    3. Sons wardrobe got sorted out too. Seems like he is a fan of bright colours just like his Mum. The clothes he never wears has been given away. He has a better wardrobe collection than me!

Ive decided that the spare room is now going to be an office. I need more space downstairs and i spend far too much time on here so i am hoping to kill two birds with one stone so to speak.

I also want to get the living room decorated at some point (will have to save hard for that cause i want to replace the seating arrangement in here).

When the bush in the garden has been tackled and garden tidied in the spring i have decided to get the house valued. Last time it was valued was when i came into posession of it in 2003 and a lot has been done to it since then.
