Me too ! I love the diaries adn wish I had more time to spend on them !

I bought the paint for the utility room on Sunday but am still looking at it sitting on the floor waiting to be opened. Seen as I have been threatening to paint it since January, I do think I need to get started. We need a new back door but that one will have to wait. Ruined by the blasted cat who remains nameless.

I bet your budget revamp will look great though x

Hi Happy I've been lurking in the back ground of your diary for a bit and have now subscribed.

I'd intended to have an early night tonight but as you can see that didn't go as planned. I'm now stuck in here as I'll disturb OH if I try to sneak in now. :(

Luckily my OH is snoring in the other room so hasn't heard me snorting with laughter when I got to the 20p bar of fudge being cut up into 35 pieces. Could you even find the pieces after you cut them up? :rotfl:

Then I snorted again when I got to Piquant's attempt at the same trick, only to be foiled by the pack of 5 insisting that it all get eaten at once. :rotfl::rotfl:

For some reason chocolate anywhere near me also seductively calls out my name as I'm passing. I've even told it I'll change my name one day so it can't call out to me.

I finally had a near bed wetting accident when I got to the chocolate cake eating cat - perhaps you should take it to one side and tell it about your money troubles.

Oh and finally I too am keeping up appearances, have a car on its last legs, an aversion to flea baying and still have one of the light up blue kettles and love standing in the kitchen watching it boil with the lights off. :o

Spooky how similar we all are on here

anyway, nice to meet you. Loved your money magic, financial failure posts.

I too agree with Piquant that this is a great quote

Hope the painting's going well. The costs are great and actually it probably wouldn't have looked better with a £5k spend.

It's finished! It's been a hard couple of days but sooooo worth it. It looks all clean and fresh and I've decided not to put back all the pictures and ornaments but to stay more minimalist. I'm also getting a bit too fancy and refusing to have the dog's bed in there, but I think that will wear off (probably once she starts sleeping on the newly-cleaned carpet - lesser of two evils and all that!).

    What color did you chose?
Well it is called Bone China, and it's a just a neutral, creamy colour. Paint colour names are so silly. It's a Dulux one, but to help me choose I browsed the Farrow and Ball website. Do you know, they have emulsions called Dead Salmon, Elephant's Breath, Mouse's Back and Smoked Trout! Who thinks those up?? I remember the days when you could choose from white or (if you were a bit trendy/wacky) magnolia...

I hate the job, but getting it done has been such a lift to my spirits so I think you should get on and do it. Or why not bribe the girls to do it??

Damn Granny, I thought I was being clever and just recommended on your diary for you pop over here, and when I drop by myself I find you've beaten me to it, and to top it all off you turn the lights off to watch the blue light on the kettle too! It's all too spooky.

Glad the revamp is finished and you are pleased with it. Is Mr Zhappy impressed? My girls would dearly love to help with the painting as suggested, but it would take them at last 2 days to plan their decorating outfits by which time I would be finished! :rotfl:

Re the paint colours my kitchen, Hall and soon to be utility are white, but not any old white " A very classy Absolute White " Dd2s room is also white, seems to be my colour of choice recently, but it's " pacific White" personally I can see no difference but apparently they give the rooms light and space but I'm sure a job lot of trade plain white emultion would have done the job at half the price!
