Thanks for the good wishes
.
Just popped on here to pat myself on the back. I woke up at 4.30 am and couldn't get back to sleep. So, I dragged myself out of bed and finally updated my bank accounts. Unfortunately I didn't find any spare money that I'd forgotten about, but at least I now have a grip on where it's all gone.
In other news I went to Tesco yesterday to buy a few bits, and a family member asked me to pick up some stuff for them while I was there. By adding some essentials (a month's supply of our dog food which is on a brilliant offer) the total spend came to over £80 which meant I could use the '£10 off an £80 spend' voucher. I could have done without spending that much really mid-month, but it made financial sense and it will really cut down on my shopping bill next month. I had a minor crisis of conscience as to whether I should share the £10 discount with the family member, but that wore off really quickly! I justified it because I had saved them petrol money and time, and they don't need it like I do!
Shower time now then off to work. Busy days........LBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!

Hi Mrs Happy,
Sounds like alot of us have been AWOL recently, but I have just caught up with you last few posts, and once again a big wow from me with your organisation. I am though totally gutted that I missed out on the Tesco Wine offer, although like Piq, I think I may have struggled to actually get my drug addled brain around it ! I am very sad to have missed out though !
Loving your Fudge story, but why are chopping it into 35 pieces may I ask ?!!! :rotfl:LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Glad you can now relax again.
Sometimes it is difficult to judge whether a bargain is a bargain or not. But if you were going to get the wine anyway, then I guess it is ok. I mean it does keep after all....:DI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Okay confession time.
Taking Mrs H's idea of cutting a finger of fudge into 35 pieces in order to get a chocolate fix and stay cost effective. I bought a pack of five. I cut the first fudge stick into small amounts, ate them, then ate the other four....:o
Obviously this method is for far stronger minded individuals!

Hmm sounds like me yesterday. The girls bought me a big bag of Haribo Teddies knowing they are my favourite and as I have been off of my food, I decided that one every now and then would give me a sugar fix and make me feel better, unfortunately I ate the whole bag . Oops !!! No Willpower for Mrs Pinot I'm afraid !LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Seems like we've both been missing in action Happy, for various reasons. Good to have you back.
I still treat myself to a glass of wine about 3-4 evenings per week. I always buy my wine when it's on offer but it still costs between $9-$10 (£4.50-£5) per bottle, even for NZ wine. It's funny how one glass of wine can make a bad day better isn't it?Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

Ah now you confess!! After I have eaten five fudge sticks  I really can't have chocolate in the house. It calls me seductively from wherever I've hidden it. I can't forget it and will get up in the middle of the night to eat it
Then I have to pretend that I ate it before midnight so it doesn't impact the next day's dieting.
I firmly adhere to the diet coke and mars bar diet.

. Luckily I have a good metabolism, plus I get light-headed after two glasses of wine. so I can't do myself too much damage!

They run this offer every six months or so and there is usually a glitch or two to exploit it even more. I'll give you the heads-up next time it's on!LBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!
