Honey Bear Said:See, you're brilliant at techie stuff. I might ask if you can sort my Seriously Dead ipod out if I can't make it go again.
Oh, wait, tomorrow's Friday so you'll have them up and running before I get home from workSleep's a tricky one. It may have been booze initially, but now it's obviously not.
Do you drink a lot of tea? That's got caffeine in it too, apparently, as does hot chocolate, apparently.
When I was working on getting enough sleep I brought 'lights out' forward by half an hour every three days until I discovered that 11.30 pm is the latest I can manage. I still find it difficult to make myself switch off the wretched light by then but at least I know if I do I feel human the following day.
The other thing I need, sadly, is my earpiece and either the ipod or the radio through the night. I happen to like talk radio, but most people who use this technique prefer music. It distracts me, filters out the snoring (mostly, not after OH has had three or more pints though) and the more I'm enjoying listening the faster I go to sleep.
Lack of sleep was your enemy the last time we were doing this, so I know it's a struggle of long-standing for you. I wish I could magic the problem away, having managed to do so for myself when I gave up drinking.
I hope switching off the phone and laptop works; it might take two or three nights of ruthlessly denying yourself electronics and forcing yourself to read instead, but it's worth three evenings of your life to find out, isn't it?
The music/talk/even audio book does sound like a good idea but I can't stand having things in my ear and Mr H would complain if I played stuff out loud. Maybe it's time for seperate bedrooms?!
I haven't managed so far to turn off the electronics but I have gone back to putting my phone out of reach. How are the stocks of Magnums doing? (I had to stop buying them. They used to call me from the freezer.)LBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!

Yeah, sure HB. I'll just finish off mending these bathroom scales then I'll get right on it *** flings scales on floor, stamps repeatedly on them, lobs them through the window that wasn't even open, flies into garden after them & attacks them with a hammer***. It might be tomorrow before I get to it.
Hahaha! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
By the way, there's nothing wrong with separate bedrooms. I often move to the spare room so that OH can get some proper sleep especially on weeknights. My sleep pattern is abysmal.0 -
Update for Thursday...
1) To have at least 15 NCDs - Yes so now on 6 NCDs.
2) To meal plan at the end of the week for the following week - All done for this week.
3) Be in bed by 10.00pm and light out by 10.30pm Sunday to Thursday - Bed at 9.10pm and light out at 10.05pm. I couldn't keep my eyes open.
4) At least 40 minutes walking during the day 6 days a week - 40 minutes done (4 x 10 minutes).
5) Deep clean the bedrooms - Not yet.
We have family coming to stay this weekend so, in case I don't get back on here, have a good weekend everyone.0 -
Happy - I've never had Horlicks but Malteasers are lovely so it must be OK. I can't seem to use ear buds as they constantly fall out so I've been using headphones on an evening until I feel that I'm dozing off and then stop listening. Not that I'm an expert as I've only been listening to audio books for a couple of days but it has seemed to help me drop off.
Dolphin - well done with getting another NCD under your belt. I seem to have become a chocolate eating monster after being good for quite a long time. Enjoy your fanily time.

Garden – no as I had an indoor day
[STRIKE]Food – try new recipe each week. [/STRIKE]
Make time for me –make time to read or complete a craft project etc. No
Autumn clean - I will aim to do 2 or 3 rooms during October. Another room down while listening to the audio book - it has revolutionised cleaning :j
I won;t be back until Monday. Hope everyone has a good weekend.0 -
Sorry I've been so absolutely hopeless about posting. I'll be back in from Monday. Until then the chocolate eating, non-techy, non-flying, non-newspaper reading, muddled attic and non-gardening continues.
I have, however, managed to make myself switch off the computer at 7.15 pm every day so despite all the evidence of things undone I'm feeling rather proud of myself.Better is good enough.0 -
Well what a rubbish weekend. I felt a bit queasy in the tummy on Friday, then Saturday and today I've been really ill with diarrhoea (sp). Luckily I'm not throwing up too but I feel awful. I haven't even got dressed today. Hopefully just a short-term thing and I'll be back on form tomorrow. Back to bed now, goodnight!LBM Dec 2011. Well isn't the human body just amazing!? I went to bed last night feeling absolutely terrible, after being ill all weekend, then woke up this morning feeling completely fine again. Phew, because I really didn't fancy much more of that. The builders have started today and I always find that stressful (particularly the paying for it!!) so I'm pleased to feel healthy.
So, targets haven't been my priority, but here goes:
Sleep. Pfft. I've slept most of the weekend apart from my many, many trips to the toilet, so I think that's a tick.
Weight No idea, but I bet I've lost a few pounds. On Friday I messed about with the scales and spent ages on the Fitbit website but I can't make them work so I'm going to return them. They're still under guarantee so hopefully they will be repaired or replaced.
Ten NCD Ha, no crap eaten for the last two days so I'm at three.
Nails I can actually see white bits at the top of two now.
Hope everyone has had a better weekend than me

Good to know you're fully recovered, Happy. It sounds pretty grim.Well isn't the human body just amazing!? Nails I can actually see white bits at the top of two now. Now that is seriously impressive.

I sort of did, ta muchly. Terrible night's sleep on Saturday though, but apparently that happened to quite a lot of people across the country; probably something to do with air pressure or something. Layla got an extra walk at 4.30 am as well, because she was also affected by it.Better is good enough.0 -
- Deal with the tech problems; the ipods, tablet, podcasts and the printer. I've set this Friday aside completely - again.
- 15 minutes Flying a day, to keep on top of the crap as September turned out to be quite successful on the Flying front eventually. Virtually nothing done after Tuesday. Made up for it all today, from 8.50 am to 12.00 midday, and I even washed the kitchen floor after that. *pting* of halo
- Plan Serious Flying a week at a time using the current list of outstanding jobs. Schedule some of the biggies across a week at a time, one job a day. Did the front steps this morning, which were really, really bad. Not that they was on the list, of course.
- Read one of the outstanding newspapers a day. I've got rather a big pile of them, so the only way to do that is:
- No computer after 7.15 pm . Success!
- Reach 63.5 kgs by 31 October. Nothing to be said.
- Finish sorting the muddled bay in the attic. Nothing to be said.
- Sow onion sets, broad beans and spinach in pots by the end of the month.Nothing to be said.

Happy – the human body is amazing & glad you’re over it now. I guess there are some silver linings if you look for them but not something you really want to do to hit your targets! Hope you have some luck with scales – good that they are still within the guarantee.Honey_Bear wrote: »

But they would have made it on the list and now they are done and I'm sure you will get pleasure from seeing the front of your house looking clean and tidy.
