We discovered completely by accident a few years ago that boiling water poured over the green gunge areas kills it without scrubbing. It takes about three days for the algae to die and disappear. Wretched stuff comes back, but I think we only do it about three times a year now.
Honey, thanks for this tip - I'll try it next year.

• Deal with the tech problems; the ipods, tablet, podcasts and the printer. I've set this Friday aside completely because I can't bear the frustration any more. Aim to crack one completely a week. I want to be able to use the tablet to multiquote on MSE, use colour, and download BBC podcasts to the newer ipod and unsubscribe the ones I don't like, and get the printer to work again on the main computer. Decide if the older, smaller, prettier ipod can be resussitated, or whether it really is seriously dead. Friday. All day. :shudder: Not something I'm looking forward to, either. It is only one day and will soon pass.
• 15 minutes Flying a day, to keep on top of the crap as September turned out to be quite successful on the Flying front eventually. I spot-cleaned bits of the carpet inside the front door and the dining room, but goodness it's a boring job, so I stopped after 15 minutes. Still, that bit looks better. And I dusted the top of the glasses shelves, and washed all the [STRIKE]crud[/STRIKE] stuff on top, and then did the high dusting in the bedroom that I couldn't reach last week. That's enough Flying for one day. At least you had a clean carpet after 15 minutes. That's quite a bit of dusting but done now for a while.
• Plan Serious Flying a week at a time using the current list of outstanding jobs. Schedule some of the biggies across a week at a time, one job a day. More jobs scheduled for today; let's see if it works because my heart's not in it today. Hope you managed to get your big job completed.
• Read one of the outstanding newspapers a day. Not yet. I've got rather a big pile of them, so the only way to do that is:
• No computer after 7.15 pm. Yes! I didn't even open a newspaper though.Well done.
• Reach 63.5 kgs by 31 October. Doesn't feel like this is happening at the moment. You've done it before and will do it again - you just need to get in the right mind set
• Finish sorting the muddled bay in the attic. Not yet been to Morries.
• Sow onion sets, broad beans and spinach in pots by the end of the month. Must schedule going through the seeds because this won't happen otherwise.
Hope you've made progress today

Elnora, the garden must be looking pretty tidy now. Thanks, it is looking better but I am moving plants round too so there is still some work to do.

Update for Tuesday...

1) To have at least 15 NCDs - Yes so now on 5 NCDs. I think you've got this sorted now

2) To meal plan at the end of the week for the following week - All done for this week. It just makes life so much easier when you're not trying to think about what to eat

3) Be in bed by 10.00pm and light out by 10.30pm Sunday to Thursday - Bed at 9.45pm and light out at 10.30pm. :j In bed early and light out on time

4) At least 40 minutes walking during the day 6 days a week - 60 minutes done (1 x 40 minutes & 2 x 10 minutes). Another tick

5) Deep clean the bedrooms - I gave them a normal clean yesterday but the deep clean will happen after the windows are done next week.
The deep clean will be easier as you kept on top of the weekly clean. Full marks - 5 out of 5 you're top of the class :T

Everybody’s doing well with targets again. I’m the worst technophobe so can’t quote :o
My targets this week are
-use gym membership twice - not yet There's still time
- 3 NSDs - 2 so far excellent - there's time to exceed this target
- reduce screen time - yes, especially in the evening (and I’m sleeping better) I’ve never taken my phone in the bedroom anyway. Better sleep - a good result from reducing your screen time
- maintain or loose weight.....will find out Friday
- declutter sideboard :D- yes - start with one job
- declutter wardrobe :D- yes - move on to another
- declutter my chair area (where all sorts of ‘stuff’ gets dumped) :D yes - and another
- Blitz bedroom and living room :D - yes - all done - as easy as 1. 2. 3. 4. :T

I’ve been really pleased I’ve just got on and not put things off - shows how writing things down and commitment helps - thanks for the inspiration :T:T
Having to confess does help

Garden – spent most of the day outside - picked apples, weeded & moved plants around, potted on more seedlings found in the garden

Food – try new recipe each week. No as I was busy sorting out the apples

Make time for me –make time to read or complete a craft project etc. No but I have downloaded an audio book that I will listen to it while I am working outside. Not exactly what I had planned but better than nothing.

Autumn clean - I will aim to do 2 or 3 rooms during October. No as I spent too long outside.

Just quickly checking in to give you all an encouraging wave.

It's been totally mad here for the last two days. We still have a bit of building work to do in our utility room and it was due to start in November. Then the builders rang on Monday night to say they can start tomorrow if we like!! That's great because it gets it all out of the way sooner, but it's meant that the entire room has had to be emptied and temporary homes found for all the contents in the last two days - and we've both been working so it's been evenings only. Anyway, we've done it, but it's meant neglecting my targets and the diary.

Back tomorrow for a catch up :)

milann, you have done well, most of the things on your list have now been done.

Elnora, there's plenty of time for the Autumn Clean. You might as well make the most of the mild weather before the cold days really kick in.

HappyNow, the phone call from the builders must have come as a shock. It will be nice to get the building work out of the way though. I can't wait for the windows to be done next week.

Shout out to Honey Bear, SSG and jvr if you are lurking!

So after the frantic efforts of the last two nights emptying the utility room ready for this morning, the builder texted at 7am today to say he's ill so they won't be starting until Monday! It doesn't really matter, at least it's all ready for them, but we've created chaos in other rooms by chucking in all the wellies and dog towels and other stinky stuff and the chaos will now last a bit longer. Luckily we're used to it.

JVR Thanks for the shellac suggestion and I've had a google. I think it has to be done at a nail place though, and I am WAY too tight to pay for that! Also I haven't had two minutes to rub together, and tomorrow is Friday so I'll be near a Boots for the nasty stuff.
Wow, Norway! Is it just a temporary thing or will you eventually be joining him?
By all means join in with some targets, all input welcome!

Elnora Thanks for the handcream suggestion. I do actually use handcream at least twice per day and it really doesn't taste half bad! It definitely doesn't stop me nibbling, I'm pretty hardcore :D
I don't know whereabouts you are, but you are having WAY better weather than me. Non-stop rain here, the dogs hate it and I had to physically pick the cat up and force him out!
I signed up to Audible in June before my holidays and I did enjoy the audio-books. Then I did the classic thing that I never normally do of forgetting to cancel, so the free trial wasn't free. It was only £7.99 but the PRINCIPLE!!
Dolphin Mr H won't eat courgettes either, he says they taste like slugs. Not 100% sure how he would know that, but still......
Ooh, new windows, exciting! And they'll come all pre-cleaned and won't need washing for ages :D

It's a shame the builder can't start until Monday after your efforts but the work is starting sooner than expected and order will resume at some point.

It was only £7.99 but the PRINCIPLE!! I would feel the same. This is the first time I have listened to an audio book and I used Borrow Box as it was recommended by someone on MSE (I think it might have been foxgloves). If you haven't heard of it you use it via your library and it is free. It really helped pass the time when I was sweeping up leaves.
Work tomorrow - make sure you set the alarm ;)

Dolphin - still doing well with your targets. Not long until your new windows are fitted and then you will be able to tick the cleaning target off too.

Honey - hope everything is OK as you've not posted for a couple of days.

Seasidegal - hope you're OK too as you've not been around for a while.

Today's effort -

Garden – swept up leaves today as it was dry.

Food – try new recipe each week. ignoring this one

Make time for me –make time to read or complete a craft project etc. Listened to the audio book while sweeping up leaves - not exactly time for me but it made a chore pass reasonably quickly.

Autumn clean - I will aim to do 2 or 3 rooms during October. It is forecast to rain tomorrow so rather than vegging out as I would like I will start the next room.
