JVR! Lovely to see you again. I checked your diary a while ago and saw you weren't updating. If the debt figure in your signature is up to date though, I can see why. Well done. And a £1K emergency fund too :)

Perhaps it is something to do with moving around while you're asleep. If you're not moving the Fitbit might assume you're in a deep sleep - just a thought.
You might well be right here. It does record resting heart rate and the amount of time spent in light, deep (always too low) and REM sleep. Fitbit are actually offering a free 7 trial of their Premium so I'll sign up for it when I know I've time to make most use of it.
Well done with the bathroom cleaning - worst room in the house, so I hope you managed to get it finished today.
I helped you out actually today with a bit of teamwork. As you've been missing the 'Make Time for Me' target, I gave myself a pedicure this afternoon in your honour :D

I know it also calculates sleep quality but to unlock the rationale of the algorithm I have to pay for Fitbit Premium. It's £7.99 per month so I won't bother.

Do you know what causes your broken sleep? It's obviously not booze because you're so well-disciplined about that, but do you drink a lot of coffee?
I did blame booze but things haven't really improved since I've come to my senses. Not coffee because I usually only have one cup per day and that's in the morning. I'm thinking it might be screen time. I need to summon up the strength of character to cut it out for a while and see if it helps.

Weight No idea. Still not played with the scales and also I keep forgetting to weigh myself (theoretically I do it first thing in the morning, in my nightie, post-wee, pre-food).

Ditto. I find it interesting that even having a cup of tea before I weigh myself gives a strangely high reading, and I often forget to jump on the scales first - like this morning. Me too. I brought them downstairs a few days ago to see if it's weak bathroom Wifi stopping them working. It isn't because they don't work here either, but I can't seem to remember to carry them upstairs again which makes it doubly hard to remember to get on. ****update - guilt-tripped myself into it and they're back in the bathroom now :D ****

Ten NCD I'd intended going for one today but then I ate a mince pie. And then ten chocolate buttons. It's still better than some days.

How did you manage to stop after 10? Or was that just the end of the packet?
They were the giant ones :o

Nails Nope, still stumpy.

If you don't have the evil gunge and you're still relying on willpower alone that would make sense.
It's not even just the lack of willpower. It's just such a part of me that I don't even notice I'm doing it until it's too late. I can remember a little girl at primary school, Christine she was called, showing me how to bite them when I was about 5. She was really pretty and popular and I wanted to be like her. Bet she doesn't still bite hers!

5) Deep clean the kitchen - Nope and wondering why this is even on my list.
It's on your list because you're doing so well with everything else and you don't want to be the swot again!

Apologies to anyone who has developed a migraine due to my quote attempts above. I'm experimenting with Chrome rather than IE, which has started freezing, and it seems a little tricksy. Anyway, back to yesterday:

Sleep. 5 hours and 35 minutes for a Sleep Score of 78, 'fair'. That sounds quite reasonable until I explain that the 5 hrs 35 mins were between 3.32 and 9.44 am! I went to bed at 11pm and laid there while Mr H snored to me, then eventually I got up and watched two hours of Corrie on catch-up. I have got to sort this!! I am actually considering (after saying I couldn't do it....) banning myself from my laptop and phone in the evenings, like Honey.

Weight No idea, forgot to weigh myself again, but as this has definitely NOT been a NCD I'm not expecting great things:D

Ten NCD After a bad night's sleep I do find sugary and fatty foods are comforting. So for medicinal purposes I have eaten a boost bar, two chocolate biscuits and I am currently eyeing up the freezer because I know there are Magnums in there.

Nails No change here, still totally unglam.

Yes and if my signature was remotely up to date that would explain my absence... Sadly not through lots of events and now OH having gone to Norway for dream job (more money but expensive initially) I am back on money saving train... Which is surprisingly easier without OH here although probably spend more socialising so I don't end up a crazy dog lady!
May have to join you all on your targets as worked for me before and fully off every wagon
Few thoughts having caught up

Low carb chili - I like to scoop out courgettes and put the middle bit in the chili and then grill the skins to make lil boats for the chili!

Nails - my friend started using shellac as it felt different and she would realise she was biting them

Update for Friday, Saturday & Sunday...

1) To have at least 15 NCDs - Yes on Friday, no on Saturday or Sunday so now on 3 NCDs. It was the weekend where, I think, it can be more difficult. Today is a new day and there is still plenty of month left to hit your target.

2) To meal plan at the end of the week for the following week - Meal plan done and shopping coming later today. You seem to be in a routine now :T

3) Be in bed by 10.00pm and light out by 10.30pm Sunday to Thursday - Friday & Saturday don't count. Sunday, bed at 9.45pm, light out at 11.00pm. Almost there

4) At least 40 minutes walking during the day 6 days a week - 20 minutes done Friday (2 x 10 minutes), at least 2 hours done on Saturday, none on Sunday. Saturday made up for Sunday and there is no wonder you needed a treat after all that walking. Are you feeling the benefit from the regular walks?

5) Deep clean the kitchen - Nope and wondering why this is even on my list.
Even if you don't clean the kitchen this month it is on your mind so it will get done.

• Deal with the tech problems; the ipods, tablet, podcasts and the printer. I've set this Friday aside completely because I can't bear the frustration any more. Aim to crack one completely a week. I want to be able to use the tablet to multiquote on MSE, use colour, and download BBC podcasts to the newer ipod and unsubscribe the ones I don't like, and get the printer to work again on the main computer. Decide if the older, smaller, prettier ipod can be resussitated, or whether it really is seriously dead. Don't have to worry about this until Friday. *relief* I agree. weekly targets do make me give a small sigh of relief that I have a few days grace before they are at the top of the list again.
• 15 minutes Flying a day, to keep on top of the crap as September turned out to be quite successful on the Flying front eventually. Weekends don't count unless I absolutely have to because we've got arrivals, I just don't. However, there must be something in this Good Intentions thing because yesterday I did run the vacuum around where the kittens had been traipsing sawdust everywhere. *preen* I was quite surprised when it gave out because I'd used up all the battery, too. :T
• Plan Serious Flying a week at a time using the current list of outstanding jobs. Schedule some of the biggies across a week at a time, one job a day. Today's jobs scheduled; let's see if it works. I might have to try this idea if it works well for you.
• Read one of the outstanding newspapers a day. Not yet. I've got rather a big pile of them, so the only way to do that is:
• No computer after 7.15 pm. Not on Saturday, but yes last night. I didn't manage to even open a newspaper though.Well done - I would find this difficult but I do try to shut it down at around 9.00pm.
• Reach 63.5 kgs by 31 October. *sigh* On course on Sunday morning, not so much this morning. I blame the first cup of tea. Tea is known to derail people :D
• Finish sorting the muddled bay in the attic. I won't be able to tackle this until I've been to a particular Morries and picked up a particular size of box I need and that isn't happening yet because it's right out of my way.
• Sow onion sets, broad beans and spinach in pots by the end of the month. Must go through the seed stash and see if I've actually got any of these; I know I don't have any onion sets. Then I'm going to have to empty some pots. Or maybe empty the pots when they're not soaked after a downpour; should have done that yesterday.
• The rain has been a pain - I can't weed the veggie beds because they are soaking wet.

In the absence of gunge would putting some handcream on help? It would probably taste unpleasant and soothe your hands.

Hello jvr, I like the sound of your courgette chilli.

Garden – it didn't rain today :T so I scrubbed the path to remove all the green slimy stuff and you can now walk down the path without fear of losing your footing.

Food – try new recipe each week. - I will aim for tomorrow.

Make time for me –make time to read or complete a craft project etc. No, perhaps I should try your suggestion Honey and schedule it.

Autumn clean - I will aim to do 2 or 3 rooms during October. Finished the bathroom when i came inside :T
