Just a quick dash-in to commit my September targets to paper. The digger-man is on his way so today will be full-on but very rewarding. We weren't expecting him until last week so I'm very excited, although it will probably cost £200. So, for September:
    • I will eat healthily and not excessively, with 5 x F & V (not calorie counting, it takes too long so I don't always do it, and really I know what's what).
    • No more than one bottle of wine per week.
    • Six glasses of water daily
    • Complete Flylady Level One as a minimum every day, although Friday's will be done on Saturdays because Fridays are mad
    • Be pro-active with money. Not just zero waste, but actually DO something - take surveys, selling etc etc.
Back later for a proper catch-up.

DISCLAIMER - We're having a four day holiday from 8th to 11th September in Northumbria, so I daresay that'll be a complete write-off.

Excellent targets Happy - eminently doable (even the wine if you're good!:rotfl:). You have to take into account holidays as a bit of a let-off otherwise you will just fail (er - see my post above!;)

Well done everyone for getting to September, although I expect The Happy Dog's vet's bills will take some paying over the next 10 days which will totally screw up the debt-busting.
Ah, the Happy Dog is totally used to be used as my excuse-all and has made an almost unbelievable recovery already. If ever a dog was designed to eat homework, it's her :D

Oh dear! Massive fail here on everything! We drove over to a lovely village yesterday afternoon and I was treated to scrumptious Yorkshire rarebit with bacon on toast! Plus two flat whites. We had a mooch around - I don't think the walking counted as it was an intermittent mooch-walk pace! I put £5 towards DD's bill in the butchers there and also bought a gorgeous cushion depicting boxing hares for their Scottish abode as a gift - £28 - but I don't think of this as wasting money really as they are so generous to me.

And the meal in the evening was wonderful - tasting menu at a new swanky country manor type place - I won't even try and calculate the calories - tiny plates but quite a few of them and very rich! Plus some very nice wine.

So that's the end of the Plan for August - Im very pleased with how things have gone and am going to push yesterday under the carpet!

I'm having a think about September's goals - it's definitely going to involve food and calories but I'm not going to officially start it till Tuesday when I'm travelling back.
Ooh SSG - it sounds like you're up with me and Dolphin in God's Own Country? It doesn't sound like you're in my part though because I can't think of a new swanky country manor place near here. Wherever you are, I hope you enjoy Yorkshire, most of it is FAB.

Looking forward to hearing your new goals on Tuesday. By the sound of yesterday, one of them might be calorie counting again!

My targets for September will be:
    • To have hit 63 kgs at some point on the scales over the course of the month which will require a steady downward tragectory. My weight really is yoyoing about all over the place but it is heading in the right direction thanks to this target. That's a good way to target it I think. Like you say, it fluctuates so much with no logic (figs aside)
    • 15 minutes Flying per day. I'm joining you in this one but in a slightly different format. I'm committing to Flying at Level One minimum each day. I've been refreshing Oldstyle for the last hour because I'm inexplicably excited about tomorrow's cleaning. I give it a week.......:D
    • Stretches after each dog walk.
    • Clear one paperwork Frog each week (minutes, tax return, stocktake freezer and food cupboards). Ooh, good idea. Noted for October.

I'm based in York at the moment Happy as DD and OH live here. I love it - and what I've seen so far of Yorkshire - it's a big, beautiful county. Hoping to retire here.......(she says wistfully).

The swanky place was not far from Ripon, if that's anywhere near you.

I love York and often have a day trip there, lots to see and do. Lovely place to live for your DD and her OH and a perfect base for you for some lovely holidays.

Sorry I'm a bit late to the party. Here are my targets for Serious September...

    1) To have at least 15 NCDs - For me this means none of the following... butter, cake, sweets, biscuits, chocolate, ice cream, cream or desserts of any kind. I would have done 20 days but we are on holiday for a week so don't want to be super strict that week.

    2) To meal plan at the end of the week for the following week - I have really got out of the habit of doing this so I am only meal planning a couple of days ahead at the moment. This is meaning a lot more trips to the supermarket which not only takes time and effort but also costs more.

    3) Be in bed by 10.00pm and light out by 10.30pm Sunday to Thursday - Carried over from last month. I need to keep this up to have a chance with the other targets.

    4) At least 30 minutes walking during the day - I need to keep this as a target or I just won't do it.

Now that I have set my targets, here is my update for yesterday...

    1) To have at least 15 NCDs - Not a good start, no NCD, I appear to have a lot of rubbish in the house that needs using up.

    2) To meal plan at the end of the week for the following week - I took the time yesterday to plan our meals for the rest of the week and went shopping this morning for most things so not a bad start.

    3) Be in bed by 10.00pm and light out by 10.30pm Sunday to Thursday - Was in bed by 10.15pm but light didn't go out until 11.30pm and then I had a very sleepless night. I have no doubt I'll have a better night tonight as I am so tired (assuming I can stay awake all day).

    4) At least 30 minutes walking during the day - Nope.

Definitely need to up my game.

York is lovely. It's not really near me (I'm in West Yorks) but there's a direct train from our local station so I do visit from time to time. I also like staying overnight, which we've done a few times, because it's so beautiful after dark. Have you been in Evil Eye cocktail bar? Strange yet brilliant. Excellent retirement spot, agreed.
