Sorry I've been absent (hands apple and forged note to teacher with a :D)
I don't think you'll get far with this - an apple, seriously? Chocolate - that's the way forward, especially a bar of Galaxy:rotfl:

Seasidegal - well done on the 4lb loss and hitting your targets. Enjoy your weekend with DD and OH and tonight's meal - calories don't count on a Saturday. I look forward to reading about your long term targets.

We have apples trees so I will probably make blackberry and apple pie / crumble or some jam. I also have them with yogurt and find that they are OK from frozen. If I have enough, I might make some blackberry vodka which I've made before but there was talk about it on foxgloves diary which brought it to mind. If you've not made fruit vodka before it is really easy but don't discard the fruit after straining as you can make a sauce with it for use in yogurt or over ice cream.
I made plum gin last year when our plum tree went bonkers. I gave most away for Xmas pressies but the rest is still sat here because neither of us really like gin! I was promised it wouldn't taste of gin with all the fruit and sugar, but it does. Not cheap either, considering you have to buy the gin. Now plum wine might be a better bet - not this year though because the plum tree hasn't bothered growing fruit.

The other thing I did, which would also work with blackberries, was just to open freeze plum quarters, then shove them in a freezer bag and use them as drink coolers. 'Middle class ice cubes', we call them :D

Fell asleep on the sofa last night, hence not updating. Then when I finally got to bed I didn't feel tired so laid awake for hours before finally falling asleep until 10am. Rubbish.

Basically though, yesterday I was doing absolutely brilliantly on all my targets, but then the dog ate my fitbit, I couldn't get the lid off my water bottle, and the dog sprained her ankle so didn't want to go walking. Honestly(-ish) :D

On the plus side I am having a final mega push today to end the month on a high, ready for September's new targets.

I like this idea. Our plum tree was the same and the weight of the plums broke one of the branches. Nothing this year which I'm glad about as plums aren't my favourite plus there are still lots in the freezer.

Hmmm ... such a lot of mishaps in one day ;) I'll give you the benefit of the doubt but make sure you hose that fitbit down before using it  :rotfl:

Just a quick dash-in to commit my September targets to paper. The digger-man is on his way so today will be full-on but very rewarding. We weren't expecting him until last week so I'm very excited, although it will probably cost £200. So, for September:
    • I will eat healthily and not excessively, with 5 x F & V (not calorie counting, it takes too long so I don't always do it, and really I know what's what).
    • No more than one bottle of wine per week.
    • Six glasses of water daily
    • Complete Flylady Level One as a minimum every day, although Friday's will be done on Saturdays because Fridays are mad
    • Be pro-active with money. Not just zero waste, but actually DO something - take surveys, selling etc etc.
Back later for a proper catch-up.

DISCLAIMER - We're having a four day holiday from 8th to 11th September in Northumbria, so I daresay that'll be a complete write-off.

Well done everyone for getting to September, although I expect The Happy Dog's vet's bills will take some paying over the next 10 days which will totally screw up the debt-busting.

My targets for September will be:
    • To have hit 63 kgs at some point on the scales over the course of the month which will require a steady downward tragectory. My weight really is yoyoing about all over the place but it is heading in the right direction thanks to this target.
    • 15 minutes Flying per day.
    • Stretches after each dog walk.
    • Clear one paperwork Frog each week (minutes, tax return, stocktake freezer and food cupboards).
    Better is good enough.
  • Extract from today's diary:

    END OF THE PLAN

Oh dear! Massive fail here on everything! We drove over to a lovely village yesterday afternoon and I was treated to scrumptious Yorkshire rarebit with bacon on toast! Plus two flat whites. We had a mooch around - I don't think the walking counted as it was an intermittent mooch-walk pace! I put £5 towards DD's bill in the butchers there and also bought a gorgeous cushion depicting boxing hares for their Scottish abode as a gift - £28 - but I don't think of this as wasting money really as they are so generous to me.

And the meal in the evening was wonderful - tasting menu at a new swanky country manor type place - I won't even try and calculate the calories - tiny plates but quite a few of them and very rich! Plus some very nice wine.

So that's the end of the Plan for August - Im very pleased with how things have gone and am going to push yesterday under the carpet!

I'm having a think about September's goals - it's definitely going to involve food and calories but I'm not going to officially start it till Tuesday when I'm travelling back.
