Jvr, I'm sorry that person is still a cloud hanging over you - I think I remember you walking away from them - and I completely agree with HB about not letting them have any power over you by poking the resentment. I also know that is easier said than done so I wish you strength.
Love your celebratory 'bruffet's, Happy - were they inspired by Iceland's sponsorship of the these programmes? Or are they classier than that?
And I do the carrier bag - or actually these days mini bin bag - of rubbish picking on my dog walks. I do get funny looks but I don't care. It irritated me massively that it was so untidy down by the riverbank, especially when there are three massive bins down there that are regularly emptied, so I started just picking stuff up and putting it in the bins. And now, I walk from the other direction and put it in the bag, and that goes into the bin.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

- Five fruit and veg a day: Grapefruit, raisins, sweet potato, spinach and courgette.
- Lights out by 11.30pm Tick.
- Make 100 sales cold calls by 31.1.17 Where does the time go? I must do the research for this. Hmm. Assuming you make calls Monday to Friday, you've only got 17 days left in January. That's 6 per day, which is a lot - particularly if they're successful and you have follow up work to do. If 100 is a tad ambitious you could always let it run into February?
- One random act of kindness or public service a day I'll have to put this one down to the second letter I wrote on 1st January. Oops. And thanks for the comments on litter-picking, Happy. I feel a bit embarrased when I set out to do it, but once I've picked up the first bit I'm away. I've put a carrier bag in my dog-walking jacket because it needs more doing already. And Joey does it too. I will take a bag with me on Sunday's walk. Just maybe, if more people did it, others might join in - or at least think twice before dropping their crap.
- Record something lovely that happens every day so that at the end of the year when I empty the jar I'll remember all the good things that happened Tick. Good
- After 7th January cut out sugar until 1st February. Still sticking to 12 Days of Christmas rather well. Is today the 12th day? I can never remember.....

in summary my best friend who was also my sisters best friend got pregnant at beginning of last year at same time as my sister. Sadly my sister miscarried and my friend was amazing. Then my sister miscarried again (found out at 12 week scan) and this girl was no where to be seen.. we had holiday to Barcelona booked and she said it wouldn't be a good idea to come as would be too hard on my sister to see her pregnant. This was not how my sister felt and it became clear that she seemed to want to avoid my sis like the plague as if her miscarriages were catching! she told everyone that we were trying to stop her being happy about her pregnancy bla bla which was not the case at all! But the day after my sisters miscarriage she started posting constant bump pictures which to be honest the timing felt hurtful. Then her sister sent me nasty messages about my sister saying she was a bad person and not invited to the baby shower. Eventually I told this friend I was walking away, she was my closest friend but she saw no problem in how she or her sister acted and I basically was told to shut up and accept it. I couldn't as I felt it had become bullying and isolating my sister who was very vulnerable after everything she went through... this girl then moved house abandoning her cat (wth) and we have had no contact since. There were a lot of other nasty things in that time but I can hand on heart say I never did or said anything except I don't want a friendship with you.
I think what fills me with anger is all our joint friends acted like this was a little spat... 'were gonna be friends with you both' and nobody looked at it and admitted that this girl had bullied someone at lowest point in her life. So she keeps all her friends and is never confronted about how she acted. We all can be horrible at times as people but I feel it is friends job to say no this isn't right and hold someone accountable... if they admit what they did then fair a friendship can continue.....
Maybe I'm just bitter and jealous I don't know I think I'm just too close to the whole thing to see anymore! and I'm not sure why I felt I moved on and suddenly it also really is making me angry!!LBM Dec 2011. Today's update:
- Money. Bad news. Our tenant's boiler broke down today and the new part costs £110. We couldn't shop around because it's freezing and she has no heating or hot water so we had to just instruct the engineer to fix it. Other than that, no spends.
- Food. Five portions of fruit and veg eaten, along with five portions of cake and chocolate. Luckily it's my birthday and I believe the same rules apply on birthdays as at Christmas? You know, the ones where calories don't count?
- Alcohol: Finished off my Christmas pernod, which has lasted longer than usual because I ran out of lemonade.
- Daily admin: Nothing new has arrived.
- Admin catch-up: Finally tackled the biggie I've been avoiding since November and rang the tax office. They've sent Mr H several letters saying he has underpaid tax and needs to pay either £205 or £76, depending on which letter you read. We didn't see how it could be right and, amazingly, it's not! They told us something or other had updated wrongly after he was made redundant and actually everything is in order. I wish I'd rung weeks ago now!
- Contact with parents: Yes, my mum rang me this morning.
- Keep house tidy. On my birthday? Not a chance

I think you're an excellent landlord Happy! Some poor tenants would have had to struggle days without heating because some landlords can't be bothered! Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

A very late one and I'm only here for a minute just to check in. Mr H's mum has been taken into hospital tonight after a fall. She's broken a bone in her pelvis which is very painful and will probably be slow to heal because she's 96. Poor thingLBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. I feel sick about missing your birthday, Happy Now, especially as it's in my diary to wish you many happy returns. OH's has rather overtaken me for the last few days and will continue on until tomorrow morning. I'll be back to post a catch up then, but in the meantime I wanted to wish Mr Happy's mother zonked out *painfree and healing vibes*. We forget how much we take life just meandering on smoothly for granted until something like an accident to someone we care about upsets the applecart.Better is good enough.0
