You could use this idea for attaching your design to a cushion cover... http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gKJKPU7wqX0/Sp6Vv4CfIGI/AAAAAAAAATs/fxhudwody5k/s1600-h/my+cushion.JPG

This may also help. ..... http://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=related&v=83RKN9O6mxI.

Sew your stitchery on, either by hand or machine before you assemble the cushion cover. :)

  • just found this lovely thread. It's so "gentle" if you know what I mean, I struggle with depression and you've no idea how relaxed I feel having read the last 5 pages. Will start from page 1 tomorrow !
  • Plan for this evening is to get out the sewing machine! Can't wait!

I got a load of reduced craft felt the other day as needed some black felt to make pirate moustaches for my little boy's birthday in 3 weeks. Each of the packs have loads of colours in there so I wondered what to do with the rest of it....Pinterest came in very helpful!! Anyway, I found this idea for a felt tree:

So I have set myself the challenge to make a different decoration for the tree each day. So far I have a bauble, an angel, a candy cane, a star, a snowflake, a tin soldier and as of today a snowman. I'll try to upload some pictures if people would like to see them?

Yes please Nuninge. The children in the after school club are making tree decorations and it might give me some ideas for other things they can do. We have an elf's hat, a stocking and an elf shoe.

  • Hello! Can I pop in to ask for some advice please?

I'm making paper mache large letters as an extra gift - a few initials then 'home' for my sister - but well, I don't think they look right!

I've used strips of newspaper and wallpaper past and they don't have an even surface. The ones I've seen are smooth - do you prime them before painting to smooth them out? Mine seem to show the lines of the edges of the paper on the surface. :( No amount of extra layers seems to stop it.

Is it because I cut rather than ripped the paper?

  • This is fab! Such a simple thing too! Thanks for posting. I have been following all the Christmas posts for nearly 2 years - loved Flying Pig's posts. I am more of a lurker than a poster - sorry :embarasse

I'm wondering whether you need to lightly sand the surface (with sandpaper) before you paint it. I think that would smooth it. :)
