Absolutely Florensceen. Our daughter has attended church of the same faith all her life so she is now depending on that faith to get her through what will come in the near future and beyond.Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0

Seth's Gran - so sorry to hear of about about your problems. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your husband, your daughter and SIL. I guess it must be equally worrying for his family as well. Are they in the USA as well?0

morning ladies:)
just caught up
glad they have a diagnosis, seths gran
it must be (at least a small) comfort to know your daughter and family have a support network around them
i know what a HUGE help my mums church has been to her (gosh never underestimate what a group of determined womens guild ladies can achieve! same with the parishoners!)
i hope SIL can start to feel better really soon
your daughter will have been wearing "many hats" throughout all of this
mums chats will be helping her hold it all together
so hard for you all being so far apart:(0 -
Just to wet your appetites folks, this one is on my to do list!! http://www.cedarberrystitches.com/911TallTree.jpg Its one of "Kassies" creations. A friend of mine has completed this and it is fab.
I use calico fabric for my stitchery and I use a pen that fades with water. http://www.craftsandquilts.net/water-soluble-marking-pen-17430-p.asp My local haberdashery shop sells them as do Hobbycraft. Basically sew on the lines but dont get your undies in a twist if the ink still shows. Once finished sewing I run it under a tap and it simply disappears.
I also use thin wadding, or batting under the calico as it gives your work some body. Once all sewn I rinse to get rid of the ink and then I iron it dry with very hot iron. This leaves scorch marks which ages the fabric or you can tea or coffee stain it. After all this I then use basic water colours or craft chalks, like for card making to do the "colouring in" I almost always sew with 2 strands and use brown thread.
Am just catching up with this site - there are some fabulous links, projects and ideas on and my bookmark function has been working overtime but when I saw this site I was bowled over. I love stitchery and these are just wonderful. Love the fact that you can have an e pattern instead of paying and waiting for snail mail. I love the Tall Trees you have chosen but I think the first I will buy will be the Bug Stack http://www.cedarberrystitches.com/905BugStack.jpg
I have a feeling it may the first of many:D
Thank you Seths Gran for the link and the instructions0 -

Sethsgran So sorry to hear of your troubles, hope things improve for your family soon
Regarding cedar berry stitches (I have only done cross stitch), do you get a pattern to follow? Do you get told what thread to use and canvas (or whatever you use) or do you have to go and buy your own?
Sorry complete novice there are some lovely word patterns I really like and think some of these would make great presents
Thanks in advance0 -
Hi there, Cedarberry stitches patterns are usually offered in 2 formats, paper copy or download. I usually opt for down load. I usually buy calico type of fabric and sew with a thin layer of wadding behind the fabic. You sew them using 2 or 3 strands of embroidery silk. I will try to find a tutorial for you Mad-FrogNothing Changes if Nothing Changes0
