A moustache cup ... I am female and don't have a moustache. Giver thought it was a funny joke. I thought it was a total waste of money - I'd rather not have a gift at all.
:rotfl:You made the whole family collapse with laughter with your story! :rotfl:
My worst Christmas present was from my MIL and it was 3 pairs of Tesco knickers (from a 5 pack). My SIL was given the other 2 pairs for her Christmas present!!! :rotfl:Was absolutely furious at the cheek of it lol!! :p

  • Not really sure if this counts as the thought was there... Years ago I received a box of bath stuff, one of those cheap and nasty boxes you buy from a pound shop. I'm really, really fussy on what cosmetics I use and this smelt so awful, even through the box that I'd never use it even if I wasn't fussy. I made appreciative noises though, like you do and out of politeness when asked I said I liked using it but sadly had run out (it had gone to the charity shop straight away).

The next year I got exactly the same box because 'they knew I liked it'. And again the following year, and again the next year. That year I had to go into their spare room to get something and while I was poking about I stumbled accross a big box which smelled familiar... on closer inspection I found they'd stocked up on my box of smellies! There must have been about 20 boxes of the same pack!

I later found out that they thought I really liked it so had bought the shop out so that they wouldn't disappoint me in the future. I think they've got about another 10 years of stock left now. The thing is, it smelt bad before but now it smells so bad I can't even charity shop it and in the last box the bath crystals look like they've started to go mouldy.

It's very sweet of them but I hope they didn't spend much on it and I feel so guilty!

Her reasoning was that I complained about being bitten when walking our dog so ...

She didn't buy any presents this year :j
  • I've had a half drunk bottle of wine last year and chocolate coins which had been eaten by mice ( guessed mice as the net wasnt broken but the chocs were all nibbled).

That's just plain mean, I hope you left it on her doorstep! ;)

I feel bad complaining now but I got a the complete box set of Meerkat Manor because I made the mistake of saying I liked it when out with my MIL that was desperate to buy me something! I meant that I have watched it occasionally on TV not that I would like to own all 3 series! :rotfl: She also bought me a kindle though, so I really am NOT complaining!
