I can't complain about any of my own christmas presents this year, they were all great (even the one from my MIL - nice perfume, chocs and £20 - impressed! :T)

However I do have a friend who last christmas her husband bought her....a cement mixer...... His reasoning was that he didn't think she would get the hints he had been dropping for her to buy him one

I have another male friend who got sick of his wife always guessing what her present was that he brought a big (triple wrapped so no peeking) box out on the 1st of December, and wound her up for weeks until Christmas keeping her guessing what was in it. When Christmas day arrived she opened it to find....a black and decker tool set :rotfl:

And on a slightly less bright note - my children's father gave his children *nothing* at all and didn't visit as promised or even text, yet allowed pictures of himself attending a party appear on Facebook where our daughter could see them. Fuming isn't the word.

  • Absolutely nothing from my mother.....nothing for me, husband, two sons nor daughter in law. Last year she scribbled a couple of cheques when we dropped off her sackful of presents. This year.........nothing at all. I don't buy presents to get back, but I just felt so sorry for my children, especially as they'd bought her nice presents, and we'd spent almost £100 on presents for her. Oh well.

Mine were all fine - I mainly got money which was fine by me, and my Mum bought me exactly everything I asked for.
However my best mate's husband bought her a case of mini party ring biscuits... she was not amused!

My daughter asked for that book. I had to order it at the last minute from the book people.
  • A make up set.
When everyone, friends and family, knows I don't wear make up.

Suppose it's better than the screwdriver my DAD got me last year!
  • Oven gloves, and not the patterned fancy sort.
  • My son gave me a little oval race track with little old ladies in wheelchairs instead of cars. It was battery operated and only 1 wheelchair worked. It cost him £15! I'm 68 - oh how I laughed!
