love the sound of this, However i dont tend to go into supermarkets weekly so not 100% on prices/deals, is there a thread where good deals are mentioned at all?

Look at the mysupermarket website - they have a section showing all the offers for Asda/Sainsbury's/Waitrose/Tesco

I do buy in bulk if a really good offer comes up - like the buy one get 2 free on 4 packs of beans that Frugal mentioned - Mr M that one and I'm hoping the new year will see some similar deals.

Tinned dog food, sugar, dried fruit are things I'd add to the above items. Wish I had more storage space! Usually lucky in deals on washing up liquid and loo rolls. Am about to buy a new chest freezer as my upright just doesn't have the space to store bargains.

  • Also amazon is sometimes good for deals.....i managed to get 6 moths dry and wet cat food

Every year or so Sainsburys reduces the price of the HUGE boxes of Fairy washing powder from £20 to £10 and, as my dad works there, I've gotten it for either £8/9. I buy one or two and that lasts a year.

I also bought teabags and coffee when tesco were doing their DTD and I still have toothpaste from the glory days of the health and beauty vouchers :o

Anything that is dried (9p pasta) or tinned (the branston beans 20p/tin) and so won't go off for a while, I buy a few of and keep them in one of my bedroom cupboards - I have a few bookshelfs in there so it keeps it all nice and tidy and my daughter refers to it as 'my shop' :o:rotfl:

I used to buy toilet rolls from Makro on offer, but just buy the nikki ones from farmfoods.
I had to buy tinned toms the other week and couldnt believe how much they had gone up, I bought a load when I saw them on offer in the summer and they seem to have doubled in price!!!!
    I couldn't believe it either!

I did see Tesco have Princes peeled plum for 92p per four pack though when I was in on Christmas Eve.

Not particularly moneysaving, but it did occur to me as I was putting birthdays into my new diary that buying the year's birthday cards in one go might save a bit of time, and make it more likely that people would receive them on the right day as no last minute rush to buy.

That is money saving, :money: we buy a box full at a time. These a shop called Card Factory, not sure if its everywhere, but I'm sure these lots of cheapy card shops about. You can buy a box full of nice girly cards or mens cards, think sailing ships and MG's :D Also Tesco's and Sainsburys to value packs as well.

This then stops you nipping into the co-op on your way home and buying cards at £2.50 a pop.
  • I love stockpiling!! Things such as toiletries I buy and store, I currently have 40 which may seem madness but in my defence they were bought at 50p per bottle and on major glitches ie 80p for Body Shop ones and were bought over a period of time.

Cleaning products I find are great to stock up on whilst on offer or cheap. I have enough washing powder to last me around a year, at least nearing a year.

Tins and dried foods I think are good to stock up on as well. Since using Approved Foods I have realised that goods last a lot longer than I would have imagined so it's pretty easy to buy things cheaply and store them!

I will buy a years worth of anything that's on a really good discount and won't go off. I've currently got a stockpile of Tesco Value dishwasher tabs bought when they were 15p a box of 30, the same of Fairy liquid, Parazone and bleach from the 50% off + BOGOF glitches, Whiskas pouches at £1 a box etc etc. I wouldn't bother with a years worth if the item was just on an ordinary discount. Discounts are like buses...there will be another one along eventually and I only need to buy enough to last till then. Three months worth is usually fine imho.

I'm still working my way through the Herbal Essence pile though...I bought several years worth. How could anyone resist an offer where Boots were giving you £1 worth of points with two bottles of shampoo/conditioner at 39p each? Now THAT was a good offer!

Thanks everyone, a lot of great ideas. I knew you all on here would understand and do the same. I have a good list now and will wait for good offers. Keep them coming.....
