  • I have several years worth of dishwasher tablets and laundry detergent, all bought when on amazing offers. I've just finished my 2 year stock of shampoo and conditioner, again a mega reduction at Superdrug a couple of years ago.

I have loads of beans, tinned tomatoes and pasta which will last a year or so.

I only buy so much if I see an excellent bargain. I wish I had space to store more toilet rolls but I can only have a few months supply at any one time.

It's a fabulous way to save money you bet it is. A few months ago I bought a chest freezer to complement my fridge freezer and they are now both pretty full and the money that has saved me is fantastic when you can buy loads of different foods that you would normally buy on whoppsie and straight into the freezer. (Example while in Morrisons a few weeks ago they were selling bread off at 19p a loaf I bought 4 loaves) I also buy loads of tinned food while its on offer so throughout a year you can save a lot of cash I have also started printing coupons and getting vouchers from newspapers and sending for free samples its brilliant I am looking forward to 2012 happy shopping everyone.

The things I have most of are rice, pasta, dried red lentils and barley.

When we get round to rejigging the kitchen, DH is making me a larder cupboard where our fridge/freezer is just now, hoping to stock that baby full of goodies!

What do you do if you noticed that the stuff you've hoarded comes up on an even BETTER offer than the one you bulk-bought it on? :P

Personally, I'd use up what I've already got first. But I would only look at a months worth of items. At the minute I can only think of Fairy and Toilet Rolls :o

I buy for several months but try to avoid a year, incase of waste or missing out on prices dropping,as they occasionally do. Things like loo roll tinned goods are usually ok for a year.

Just commented on this on another thread. Last year Lidl did their dishwasher tabets - they are recommended by Which? magazine - on half price so that made it 89p per box of 30 tablets. I bought ten boxes staright off and stashed them in the garage that has saved me allot of money.

This year I haven't seen any offers from Lidl's saying that they wil repeat this - I am hoping they will because they are a really excellent product.
