Chicken soup... it's been in the fridge for a week - I forgot it was there.
Made from chicken stock (essentially free) with those little bits of meat that never otherwise come off the carcasse and some mushrooms. So an estimated 30p.
Takes me up to £1.20 and nobody to blame but me and my poor organisation <sigh>Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Awww... not to worry. The first month (at least) is a learning curve.
Organisation, stock checking, shopping... all come into it, and all of them need to be integrated. So there's a lot to consider.
Not to mention that you've "inherited" your previous month's stock levels and (possible?) over-shopping and so on.
So things will ease off as this month progresses, and next month will be better. Just checking in to say -- a small portion of leftover salmon stirfry -- made with leftovers in the first place, and when I fished it out for my lunch it smelt seriously weird. As my mate says, "food tells you when it's off". And an orange; citrus fruit continues to be a problem for me. Perhaps I should put half the bag in the fridge when we get back from the market, and get it out when the other ones are eaten? So. 50p I think for the stir fry, and 17p for the orange, currently £2.89. Bit smug about using up the mixed beansprouts from the organic box that we went 'what on earth do we do with those' (stirfry them in teriyaki sauce and have them with fish), and spotting that if the chicken stuffing was going to be made with raisins and dried apricots it would probably be perfectly good with the end of the bag of mixed fruit and peel from when I made Christmas puds.Make £2023 in 2023: (all decluttering), current total £2860 me, £330 for friends & family, £468 charity donations.0

Bread and butter-ish type pudding? (On the basis that anything smothered in custard will probably be OK!)0 -
