No sighting today so no chance to ask him.

I got home and took myself out for a run, only a short one, less than 1.5 miles but averaged 10.36 min/mile pace which is around 1 min/mile slower than the last time I ran such a short distance,

    Are you sure it wasn't 10.35 min/mile? :p

but it'll do as the more I get myself out on my trainers the sooner I'll get myself back to where I was and then hopefully start to get quicker/increase the distances I run.

    And enjoy yourself of course.

Took myself to Lidl on my way home from work to get some more iced tea, and while I was there picked up munchies - pretzels, veggie crisps and sweet popcorn as I think I have a friend coming round one evening this week.

    You think?

I also just managed to hit the magic 17999SB target on swagbucks so have claimed the £100 cash to paypal option. If they pay it as quickly as last time I should have the money in paypal by next week so will be in the bank by the end of that week.

Nope the GPS timer said it was .36 not .35 - the maths would be beyond me!

Nope never enjoyed running in the past, can't see it happening in future. I do enjoy the scenery and the wildlife I see and how I feel after a run (mainly when the tired, and sore thing wears off). But never the running itself.

I think, we're not sure if it'll be this week or next thanks to trying to work around shifts of course chances are by next week I'll have eaten all the munchy stuff and will need to buy more but I'm fairly sure I can stretch my budget to cover it if I cut out one of the bottles of vodka ;)

The difference is about 1 in 10,000 - or in other words your GPS system would have to have measured the distance you traversed round your 1.5 mile course to an accuracy of [STRIKE]7 foot[/STRIKE] 9 inches or better.

Just because it gives you lots of numbers, doesn't mean they're real.

Are there not other forms of exercise you enjoy more?

It's only when you start the vodka that the munchies will start singing to you from the cupboard...

  • Well given I know the rough length of the route and the time it took me I could work it out myself but given the 1.4 mile route took just over 14 minutes it would seem a reasonable set of numbers to play with.
Typical bloke can't get the measurement right!

Yup but I can't swim when the pool at work is open as I'm on shift or its my day off and theres no point driving to work and back for a swim when I can go for a run. Am still hoping that I can at some point get back in to diving again which would be good as it means hefting the kit around and then taking a leisurely swim which when I've not had my kit on for a while always gives me a pretty good all round work out if the aches are to be believed.

The munchies are likely to start singing from the moment we put a dvd on since the plan is a chick flick evening :D

I'm not saying it's not reasonable, what's unreasonable is the two decimal places. The more decimal places, obviously the more accurate your inputs have to be. Hence I tend to use "and a bit" which covers a multitude of sins... :D

At work we had to produce some wild-assed guesses for some "management statistics". Someone then produced averages of our WAGs accurate to a single decimal place.

Needless to say, I went nuts at that point.

I wrote a very detailed assassination of that particular piece of work. Seemed to hit the mark, since similar nonsense has been curiously absent.

Instead, different nonsense has been produced since - but people would have to do real work instead if they didn't do that.

Especially as I've now decided I was right in the first place and it is 7 foot.

I must be turning into a woman, always changing my mind... :p

    Why did you stop diving?

Excellent idea! Munch loud enough so you can't hear the chickflick! Why don't I have these brainwaves? :rotfl:

  • The decimal places would be seconds Z.....ie average pace 10 minutes and 36 seconds per mile. Women are only indecisive when we know we can get away with it, because you blokes love coming to our rescue and making executive decisions for us - weird how when we dither about clothes we seem to get told to wear the skimpiest option isnt it.

I stopped because I don't have the time, most dive trips are weekends and I work weekends, and do most of my overtime at the weekend. Even when I'm not doing o/t I tend to find I can't get time off as there's noone to cover for me and my contract does 'ask' me to try to only use my holiday entitlement in recess periods. It sucks quite frankly, but until I find a nice mon-fri job I'm kinda stuck with getting the odd puddle dive in when I have a day off, which is great, but not the same as a weekend away diving in the sea and tends to make me even more grumpy as I realise what I'm missing out on.

If it gets us out of the shop in less than a fortnight - damn right! :p

Well if a bloke told you you should be wearing one of these...

...how many operations would it take before your fist was finally released from his innards?

Take being told to wear skimpy as a compliment. Because whether it was intended as one or not - it is.

Definately a new job needed for you. Perhaps that would be a candidate for a new-year's resolution?

  • I hate 'women' shopping, its one of my talents shopping like a bloke, if it doesnt fit or I don't like it once I have it home I return it next time I go near the appropriate shop! It wouldn't be my fist being removed, knowing the contents of my handbag possibly a bag of lead shot but almost certainly not a fist.

Its a now resolution but I'm wary of applying for jobs down here while I'm still unsure about staying put or not, theres 3 months to go on the lease for the house at the moment the thinking is still 'go north' but at the same time I like the area I'm in just wish it was less expensive and I do enjoy working where I do if not the hours and the specific role I have. But equally I need to not work for/around the military for too much longer, too easy to fall in to the trap of dating people you work around and then looking like the camp bike, or actually just becoming the camp bike by reputation because you're out with the lads most weekends. :/
