Is it so hard to turn around and throw it into the sink like I do?
where as I HATE it chucked in the sink, because other stuff follows, meaning a nother job of emptying the sink before stuff can be washed up
victory you need either to agree a rota for the family with your dh or face issuing orders. My dh is amazing at helping BUT he only sees half of it...the rest just isn't on his radar, but if I ask its done.
IMO fairer to set jobs for the day early, so they can be done at their leisure...whether that am or pm.....just also say ''before'' a certain time....0 -
lostin I learnt that a long while ago so long as you say I would like this done by such and such a time it makes life so much easier because they are not rushed into, do not haveto stop what they are doing, they co-operate a lot better if not pressurized into it, that works well here, they know what needs to be done, what should be done, how to do it, when to do it, why it needs doing, we have been over it so long now they all know just all of us here still no one asks to see what needs doing:rotfl:0

Victory that's my pet hate, why put dishes in the sink when the dishwasher is right there? I always empty the dishwasher and it's never left with clean dishes in, normally emptied within an hour or two of the load finishing, so why not just put the dirty dishes in?
An example of men and selective vision my OH is currently sitting at his computer playing a video game of some sort, ear phones in, not a care in the world. He's back at work tomorrow, does he have any clean work clothes? No. Has he realised yet? No, when will he realise? Probably tomorrow about half an hour before his shift starts. Normally I do everything and make sure everything runs smoothly but I'm taking a back seat and I've told him this on many an occasion, baby arrives in 6 weeks or less and I won't be able to do it once he's here.
Today I've sorted out more of the baby stuff we were given at Christmas, given the kitchen and living room a quick whizz round with the brush, mop and duster, made the both of us dinner, and cleaned away all the dinner things, wiped down the worktops got the dishwasher on. Today he crawled out of bed at half 2, went to his sisters to pick up his keys. That's the grand total of his day.
So we'l see how long it takes him to realise on the clothes front....The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -

Oh the dishwasher, I empty it as you as soon as but if I am doing something else Iwill ask and they jump toot suite to it but they would never none of the 3 of them see the red light flashing and empty it themselves:rotfl:
Do you know my washing machine when finished makes this insesent annoying buzzing sound and none of them see to it but once it got so bad the noise my OH turned the washing machine off at the plug but still left the washing in it, all he did was cut the noise:rotfl:0 -

:rotfl: absolute nightmare, at least we can sleep safe in the knowledge we don't have to rely on others
I was trying to show OH what I'd done with all the baby vests/grows and which sizes were which. His reply "why?" I think he thinks I'll be into hospital, few hours later I'll pop out a baby, and be back home. Not always the case sadly...The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
They have to be trained from birth! I knew I'd cracked it when one of my boys asked me in a scandalised voice what was I doing with Daddy's hoover?!:rotfl:
That was twenty-odd years ago, and I must say that on the whole my four (including OH) men (aged from 19 up) are truly fab at doing what needs doing without me or their respective OHs having to point it out - even more so in the last couple of years since I've not been in the best of health - I'm extremely lucky
