Why do i have to ask?...

OH and the kids have hols and we are all here in house together, not one of them asks if there is anything that needs doing and you may say why would they?

Sure, but then again why should I have to ask them to do it?

If I ask they are only too happy to so maybe I should feel grateful/blessed/thankful/bow to the Gods in appreciation (delete as appropiate:rotfl:) Can no one see but me that things are out of place and need moving/put away/ put cups in dishwaser/washing/cleaning/hoovering/dusting no magic tricks happen here, has everyone gone blind?

How many are male? In my experience, many men simply don't see mess. They don't see things stacked up that need taking from one room to another. It's like a blind spot.

Be grateful that they will do things when you ask ;)

I could have written this! I'll let my OH a little as she's been back at work today, but the kids.... grrrr! I tend to leave things to pile up hopong against hope they'll notice eventually... but nope - it's as if they're walking round with blinkers on. Like you, if I ask, or leave a list, they likely get done with no fuss. Is it that the modern generation expect to be guided & not have to make their own decisions - I fear for our futures!!

  • Because if you don't ask, they wont offer to do anything! Be direct & tell them what you want them to do & when. If you don't, you'll end up grumpy & doing all the work.

I do ask, they do do but it would be nice for them to see it too and do it without me sounding like a mum:rotfl:

Tigsteroonie is right and I've read enough of your threads victory to know they are all male apart from yourself.

I was once grumbling to my Mum about a similar issue and she gave me a copy of her book 'Why men don't listen and women can't read maps' and in it it explains about males seeing a 'narrower' vision that woman can. Of course how much is they can't and how much is they don't want to is anyones guess.

You're going to have to say that plate, that one, that one on the x wants putting away to ..........

Come and vent on here if you need to. :D

:D This is exactly why I let DH cook the Christmas meal because if I did it, I'd also be having to say 'is anyone laying the table' 'has anyone got the glasses out' 'what about the wine' and so on. This way Hubby cooks the meal and I do everything else and he doesn't need to ask anything.;)

:rotfl:I know gratitude overwhelms me to know they do if asked, oh I am so blessed, so utterly tear shedding with pride and joy:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: would it be so wrong of me to live in my own rose tinted fuzzy hazzy world where things just get done because they need to?:rotfl::rotfl:

Of course I can live there as much as I like but then again nothing will get done :rotfl:
