I've done the weigh in - top tip... never do it on the carpet first, I nearly had a HEART ATTACK when it put me a whole stone heavier! Went back to the kitchen tiled floor and found out it's 9st12lb which is more than I thought. So... aiming to get to 9st5lb by end of Jan. I really, really need to get fitter for my holiday in July where I will be doing the Inca Trail so another resolution is to train for a 5k run... have downloaded an app for my phone called couch to 5k which is interval training to build stamina, maybe useful to someone else? I'm definitely not a runner at all... hated sports all my life but I know I need to sort out my fitness levels and take better care of myself.
Hello to everyone else that has joined over last few days, let's keep each other motivated and good luck for the first week

Perhaps not the most auspicious start to the new year. I'm at my grandmother's (and we have all gradually been going stir crazy). Those of us under 90 were pretty desperate for some exercise so the rest of us were going to go out for a walk... even though it was raining. It was pouring so hard though that we had to give up and ended up in a cafe instead drinking hot chocolate.;)
The other problem of course with staying at other people's houses over the holiday's is that I have very limited control over my eating choices and when the choice is cake or stay ravenously hungry.... well I do like cake. :eek:Think my new leaf will be easier when I am back home and have control of the kitchen.0 -

Good luck everyone

Lulubella27 before my doctor banned me from running I used the couch to 5k programme and then the gateway to 10 k. I wasn't a runner either but I grew to love it.(at least I loved the feeling I got after the run.) there is even a support thread on this forum for it. Get a good support bra early on.....anything else can wait until you are sure you are going to keep it up. I bought one on eBay at half the price of the shops.
Still loads of food to use up in the house. I could resist if only my family would stop eating it in front of me...still back to work tomorrow so it should get easier. I am disappointed at how much weight I have put on when I was trying so hard...don't think the box of choices I ate to get them out of the way helped:o
Here 's to a great lighter new year everyone.Enough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D0 -

Happy New Year everyone!
Yesterday was a bit of a write-off (maybe vomiting up all the vodka I drank on NYE will have helped with my weight loss? I was also too hungover to even stop at the McDonalds drive through on my way home....):o
Anyway, finishing everything bad in the house today, and throwing anything out at the end of the day, ready to start tomorrow. I did my Tesco shop and spent £14.32 as I have a lot of stuff in the cupboards and freezer to use. I'm going to plan my meals for the week in a minute so I'll be ready to go. I've also looked at the new season gym timetable and planned reminders in my Blackberry for classes I plan on going to. I'm determined to do something every other day at least! I'm going to keep my eyes open for Just Dance too on ebay or somewhere as that could be an ideal one for when leaving the house seems like too much work!
Good luck everyone, looking forward to seeing us all lose that first 7lb!

I forgot to put my starting weight! Very annoyed at myself: 14st 11lb (207 lbs) so by the end of January I'm determined to do the 7lbs and be out of the 200s again!! My worst ever weight was 15st 6, so at lease I haven't put it all back on. Right, here we go!
