Well I started on Thursday by putting all of the leftover chocs and biscuits etc in a bag in the attic and have stuck to it religiously so far.
Been doing the SW rules again although not going to class and I already feel less bloated - just shows what rubbish does to you - not just makes you fatter but also bloats you and makes you retain water. Lots of fruit and veg and I feel "cleaner" and less sluggish if that makes sense - in just 3 days.

I'm not going out tonight so no temptation there but I may have a glass of wine after tea - I'll count it in my syns so hopefully it won't do any damage.

I've also been consciously trying to be more active - longer, brisker walks for the dog, going upstairs when I need to rather than leaving a pile of stuff at the bottom of the stairs for later, just had a little dance round the living room whilst doing the cleaning to MTV (looked a right state, even the dog left the room!).
I want to start swimming again in the New Year and have bought a new cossie in anticipation of my Olympic training sessions :D

As long as I can keep up the momentum the half stone in January is mine!!

Would like to join as well. Was doing quite well last year but slacked over the last few months and had a few lbs creeping back on so need to get motivated again! Think most of the junk food has gone now so will start tomorrow - OH will be on strict instructions that he's on the rest of the choccies now :)

Please can I join ou all this month? I gained over a stone in 2011 :( I have about 3 stone to lose in 2012 and would love to lose 7lbs a month. Am onl going to weigh in once a month instead of once a week. I'm not following a set plan, I have a list of different meals to choose from with a breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack & treat for each day. Plus one bigger treat each week such as a meal out or takeaway (but not gorging myself!). On top of this I want to exercise every day for a minimum of 15 mins, doing 30+ mins at least 3 times a week. If at the end of Janaury this method isn't working I guess I'll go back to SW or WW.....

  • Hello Dragon and everyone else. I am back for the new year too please. My plans to avoid all but the best chocolate over the christmas period failed dismally but currently I have only(?) put on 2 1/2 pounds this Christmas. I have tried to do lots of walks and gardening. Like several others I will wait until next Tuesday to give my starting weight.

Heres to a svelte new year for everyone...enjoy yourselves tonight for tomorrow we must diet:D
Enough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D
  • Ok last weekend of naughtiness... going for a couple this evening to toast the new year then the in laws are doing a chinese feast for ny day, so I think I will do the dreaded weigh in in a sec!

I have done a meal plan for the week.. looks something like this... (i have a LOT of chicken in my fridge, 3 for £10 at Asda, hehe!)

Thai green curry with low fat cocunut milk
    Chicken Cacciatore
    Chicken Enchiladas
    Homemade pizzas

Got the George Foreman grill out of it's hiding place so hoping to grill chicken breast and anything left over I will chuck in a salad for work. Any wraps left over I will have for lunch and likewise with any pizza. Very :money: . Let's see if I still feel like cooking that lot after a day with hundreds of whinging teenagers... good intentions! Oh, and of course, gym on friday and might drag the BF for a run one evening this week too. Every little helps?!

Can I join in- I have TRIPLE figures to lose in 2012 (going for 100lbs) - although Im not sure how much I weigh (weighing myself tues am when diet starts). I think I weigh about 17 stone, and Im the biggest I've ever been- by loads, so its time I did something about it. Would be nice to get a stone in Jan but we'll see :D

You still weigh less than me Natterjack :o
Can I join too please? I go to SW, but I need all the encouragement I can get. Plus 7lbs is a do-able target for a month.
    Cd

Others on here are doing SW as well so you will fit right in :D

  • Can I please join? HUGE amount of weight to lose (not sure of my starting weight, will weigh tomorrow) - been overweight all my life and now I've hit the wrong side of 40 it is starting to really affect my health. Not joining any clubs or starting on any plans, just making healthy choices and ditching the junk.

  • Ooh can I join in? I really need some motivation to lose about a stone and a half. I've put on weight and now am sporting a rather lovely muffin top  so I've decided to ditch the crisps, chocolate, cheese and my vice...the coca-cola! Any wonder I've put on weight?? My starting weight is 9st 12lbs.

    Happy new year all!
