Hi
I know its rather late in the month but can I still join please? If I lose 7lbs between now and the end of January that would be fab, but really im aiming for 5 as theres only 3 weeks left. I have been trying to get back into the swing of it for months now and now I feel ready, so I want to strike while the irons hot!!!
Good luck everyone
Thanks

Pleased to say I've just gone under the 17st mark. Now at 16st 12.5lb. I went up to 17.5lb just after Christmas.
Need to get down to 13st because
1) I need a hip replacement
2) I want to get back to riding our horses.
I'm aiming for 2lb a week0 -

It's important to keep those leg muscles strong, especially the muscles in the upper thigh/glutes, the ones that support the hip joints. As a horsewoman you probably have very strong leg muscles, but it's surprising how muscles degenerate with lack of use, and you need those muscles again for recovery from the hip replacement afterwards. Speaking from experience.

Well ladies, my first day is done and I'm feeling GREAAAAT! Not one slip up woohoo :j I know it's only one day but I feel a real achievement! I am doing a kind of Dukan thing for at least the first week - so mostly protein - to try and lose a bit more than I could normally in the hope than it will motivate me to carry on. I even had a sneaky little weigh in this morning and have lost already (woop woop!), I know it'll be mostly water loss but would be great if I could get rid of a whole bunch of this yucky flab this month. Is anyone else 'doing the Dukan'? Must admit that I am not sticking to the letter of it but would be great to have some Dukan buddies.....! Anyway just wanted to check in quickly, hope you're all doing and feeling GREAAAAT too and here's no another slip free :A day YAY!The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.

Yesterday was my first day back at work... I had nearly forgotton how tempting snacking is at work. Have managed to stay within my propoints so far (all 1 day of it) but it's so easy to start nibbling at things whilst sitting at my desk. Fortunately work pay for a fruit selection for us every week and so I've been (mostly) nibbling on fruit rather than the nuts and chocolate that are also out, but I have to make a conscious effort to avoid old habits.
This would explain why I had so much less problems with weight loss when I was unemployed. Apparently I can be healthy or employed fairly easily being both is a lot harder.0 -
I have the same problem with snacking at work it's so much easier at the weekend.
I didn't snack in the evenings at the weekend as I was busy sewing some felt hearts didn't make any last night and ended up eating chocolate
I think I'll have to make hearts every night even if I don't need them just so I keep busy and not snacking

Please may I join? I don't think 7lbs are possible this month as I've not been well. There are only 3 weeks left anyway-5? I think I might manage 5lb. Do we aim for 7lbs every month?
Going back to read the posts now.
I liked Mr Bloater's idea, but as an OAP without anything saleable the 2 grand ain't possible, not even in a year.
