Hi Teachergirl - I'm a science teacher too - I know exactly what you mean, I stand all day and wander around the class (only sit to do the register) and then in the hols I walk the dog but that's about the only motion I have!
All good fun with the skiddiewinks though isn't it? (Well most of the time!)0 -
I haven't stopped eating chips and I lost two stone last year. Everything is fine in moderation.
I actually could not have eaten chips as well as the omelette I had, which was really filling. Most times I find, chips are just an extra and I don't need them. The best chips I ever ate were when my first husband was alive - he used to make his own and they were lovely.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

Oh I know but they just sit there and look like food.... the only way I have been sucessfully able to control what I eat is to control what is available to eat. For example if there's crisps in the house then I will eat them, saying just one or two of something always ends in disaster too.
I really need to work on it. Wish me luck this weekend I am going to practice *whispers it* moderation:eek:. I'm pretty certain that if I can ever get it down then I'll never have a weight problem again.
Do your family make their own chips?
My first husband used to make his own, and they were lovely. I've never felt the same about 'bought' chips since then, that's why it's easy for me to say 'no' to them. I'd make them even now only DH wouldn't eat them, and no point just for me.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

Well done everyone - I can't believe that as a group we have lost over 1st already! That's fantastic. And thank you - this is the first time I have been a member of a forum and it's really motivating me, I look forward to logging on and showing off about how good I have been.
Yesterday I did a 40 min run/walk.. My stamina is not great but it set me up for the day. Then had a healthy porridge and banana breakfast followed by a huge jacket for lunch. I feel healthier and my skin is getting better too. I have been drinking lots of green tea which I find helps too. WI tonight for me, want to do it same time e/w to get an accurate reading but I do feel my little Xmas belly has shrunk somewhat! Good luck for today, I'm off to make some porridge with cinammon. Apparently it speeds up your metabolism.

Hello all
Today I weigh 66.1 kg That's down 0.3 kg from a week ago. However, it's exactly the same as my weight on the first of December and the same as that on Christmas Day.
This converts to 10 stone 5.72 pounds. The loss is 0.66 of a pound.
I am pleased that I'm now below 10 1/2 stones and hope to go back to 10 stones as an intermediate.
I can't blame 'all the Christmas food and booze' because I didn't have any. We eat well but as DH says when he sees people buying things in the supermarket, most of what's on sale and what people buy is not what we buy.
Today we're having a boiled egg with a slice of seeded wholemeal bread with brewed coffee, that's breakfast.
