Hi All, 1st spend of the year for me - just popped out to get printer ink so that I could have the OS Calendar in all its colourful glory and just happened to stop by Sainsbobs cause I needed salt and eggs.

Ended up spending £5.93 as I couldn't resist the reduced Christmas Cards but at least that's a MS tip ticked off the list and I'm sorted for next Christmas.

Shouldn't need to go shopping again for another few days as I'm still using up stuff bought in for the 'festive' period - just need to figure out what I can do with a couple of sad looking parsnips, half a red cabbage, half a swede and some stilton cheese but I will figure something out - determined not to throw anything away this year.
    Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
    July - Grocery spends = £119.54
    Aug - Grocery spends = £16.93

    Hi all,
Is there somewhere that has tips on getting good whoopsies? Time, place, where to look in the store etc? I'm not getting anything like the depth of discounts that some are managing and I want to find out how I can do that!
    many thanks in advance!
Re discounts - I am a relative novice but I popped into Waitrose half an hour before it closed on a Sunday and picked up a massive wild salmon trout fillet that would have been £14.99/kilo for £1.36. It weighed 950g and fed three adults and 2 cats

  • £5.95 spent in Mr T on the way home to restock lunchboxes for the rest of the week, plus some bananas (I can't get over how cheap they are at the moment - 6 for 50p!) and milk.

Delicious curry for dinner. Sauce is from a jar, but it was bought when it was on a "better than half price" deal a few months back. Normally I make my own, but do cheat with curry paste.

Off to update siggy. Hello to all the new joiners!
  • Hi all, a little later than planned but may I join you all this year. My budget is £200 pcm for myself and DH, although I haven't spent anything yet this year :)
