Well I called at the supermarket on the way home from the gym tonight and I got a bag of parsnips for 9p!!!!!!!! and a 600g tub of coleslaw for 1p!!!! Will only really want to be using the coleslaw for maybe 2 days out of date maximum but well worth it for 1p!!!!!!

I thought I could make soup with the parsnips so bought an onion for 12p and 10 veg stock cubes for 10p to make it with...total spend 32p!!! Gonna improvise and use some garlic and chilli flakes that I already have in the cupboard to spice it up a wee bit! Should do me for lunch for 4/5 days long with some bread.

This bargain finding is starting to get addictive!

  • Sorry, I haven't had time to read back all the posts as I'm not long in from work, but well done to those stopping smoking. I stopped just over a year ago and we are off to Mexico later in the year with the money I saved :j I used patches and the Alan Carr book. When I look back on my smoking days I can't believe what a slave I was to nicotine! Keep up the non smoking days people, it's worth it in the end :D

I am amazed at myself I had my first non spend day today :T:T:T This comes from the person who used to frequent Tesco for lunch every day as it's just across the road from where I work. I must admit it's a great feeling NOT having spent any money and I intend to do the same for most days in future :D

  • Evening all,

Have to report 5 cigarettes today but with the unexpected funeral I am not being too hard on myself.

Was hoping for a NSD but put in a small donation to cancer research and decided that as this was a spend I would buy some potatoes and carrots on way home so a total spend of £2.99.

Tomorrow should be a no spend day asking as I can go a day without butter - ran out making gammon and leek crumble for dinner!

    Hi everyone,

Went to C0$tco today and got juice cartons (x54) for packed lunches for DD and DS2. DS1 takes a bottle of drink to school each day (so he doesn't buy one for £1.30) so I also got 10 x yaz00 and 24 x luc0zade which will last him for a while. Also got 5L of b0ld 2in1 which will last ages, pep$i max x 24 cans (for my rum n coke habit :D) and 24 x dr peppEr, and a 25kg bag of salt tablets for the dishwasher (very hard water here). Grand total of £62.04 to report.

Am thinking of going once a month/six weeks to stock up as definitely cheaper than MrT.

Went to Mr S after work today to get 4 boxes of the £10 Fairy and also bought 10 pints of milk, 2 boxes of value tissues (we both still have this blooming cold) some value wipes (to clean the desks in the room I am teaching in next week:eek:) and some value skimmed milk powder.

I found a bread maker recipe that uses sun dried tomatoes (an AF order from months ago), Quinoa (have a box that runs out in April leftover from a Carol V0daphone detox) and dried basil but it needed milk powder. I was quite suprised that it was £1.61 though:eek: Must find some more bread recipes to use it up. I think nice bread improves HM soup tremendously:rotfl:

Total spent was £46.13 but I paid for the powder out of my personal spends so I am only counting the £6.13. The £40 will come out of March's GC money as this is when I will get repaid. Feb is going to be really tight money wise so won't be able to do it next month.

I am pleased that I have not spent any money at work on food or drinks this week.:)

Made Qu0rn Shepherds pie for tea, recipe was for 4 so I split it into 2 dishes before cooking. It didn't look like much but there was more than enough for the 2 of us and DH likes a decent portion. Portion control is one of my new tools to manage the budget and help DH lose a few pounds. I would have made another pie as I have tons of qu0rn mince but I only had 1 onion. :(

I peeled too many spuds so have put them in the fridge covered with cold water and will turn them into HM oven chips to have with breaded chicken/veggie chicken fillet, peas and sweetcorn tomorrow.

Made a stupid error though, my veg box comes on Friday with courgettes to make courgette lasagne but the ricotta I bought to go on the top runs out today! After searching on goggle I am going to freeze it and hope for the best fingers crossed.

Still no actual money spent, but have 'spent' a total of £30.15 from stocks after opening a few more items yesterday/today.
