Spent £2.65 on lunch at work today, but my Mr T order finally went through my bank and was £2.50 less than expected so will say that cancels out!
Have a packup to take in tomorrow though. I need to by some conditioner but got a £1 off voucher from b*ots in the post so will go there.
Trying to stretch out the mealplan till next weekend without any new purchases!Future hopes, dreams & emergencies fund: £4,000

So much for declaring a NSD earlier, that'll teach me
Dh asked me to pick his cigarettes up for him, popped in Tesco and bought carrots, bananas and dairylea dunkers for kids lunchboxes. Spent a total of £2.85 so not too bad, quite pleased as I managed to avoid picking up any of the many post Christmas offers which I don't need.GC 2023 June £72/500 NSDs 1/100 -
Made a stupid error though, my veg box comes on Friday with courgettes to make courgette lasagne but the ricotta I bought to go on the top runs out today! After searching on goggle I am going to freeze it and hope for the best fingers crossed.
Can I have the recipe for this please?Future hopes, dreams & emergencies fund: £4,000

Excellent shop tonight at Morrisons on my way to Fat Club
Meatballs 50p not £2
Gammon steaks 55p not £2.29
£6.60 of tuna steaks for less than £2
I did spend about £16 from my grocery budget, but also got ketchup and teabags which were on good offers. Chuffed with that.
Going to have to be very strict for the next couple of weeks though. I am going to use this Morrisons during the week every week though as I always get good reductions there.0 -
Have been thinking and think the best way for me to stick to my grocery budget is to have a separate p
Urse with me grocery money in it so tomorrow i shall root out a purse....i have a new one somewherer i think, unless i gave it as a gift, i cant remembr lol !
This way i can not go over my gc amount as i wont have my debit card with me. My thinking is that if i dont spend all of my budget, i can try to save that up to pay either towards diesel or to go towards paying off my hefty ovrdraft!Every penny's a prisoner!

Quick question for you all - I have a load of celery in the fridge, going to make celery soup tomorrow (found recipe on the recipe thread - thanks to all who maintain this )
I also have half a bag of spring greens to use, do you they think that would work in the celery soup ? Was thinking 1 1/2 heads of celery, 1 1/2 large spuds, couple of carrots, couple of small onions and the half bag of cabbage.
What do you think ? And if the cabbage is a no go what else could I do with it ?Jan GC: £202.65/£450 (as of 4-1-12)

You could blanche the celery and freeze it chopped up and then add some of it to soups and stews, straight from the freezer.Every penny's a prisoner!
