Just been trying to catch up with thread and gave up, it's moving so fast.

Have spent £13.41 in A!di and £11.61 in Mr S today, not too bad. Was hoping not to shop again till next Friday but just seen next week's offers in C0stc0 and there's a couple of things we're low on that are on offer so will be popping in on Mon or Tues (but that will mean we'll have enough coffee for about 3 months :j)

Total for the month so far £129.91, so 52% of the budget spent and 42% of the month gone. Not too bad I guess, have everything in for next week's dinners, 6 of the dinners for the week after, and 6 of the dinners for the week after that, so really should only need bread, milk, coffee, veg and breakfast stuff. And maybe a couple of extras for lunch as I usually have hm soup or leftovers and there are at least 2 weeks worth in the freezer.

    PP

Just popping in to admit to a little spending - £1.54 on cheese and chocolate! Needed the cheese to top the sausagemeat hash and fortunately they only had trial sizes in because of a broken dow fridge - not very mse but helps my hips!

£12.92 left to cover the veg this weekend and next - should be doable - famous last words!

    Good luck everyone.

You can certainly freeze mash. Not a 100% with the roasties but don't see why not. Hopefully someone else will confirm it.

I agree. Def OK to freeze mash. With two chaps of 6'4" I can confirm that no such things as leftover roast potatoes are ever to be found here in this house. Nope. Not ever:rotfl:

Hope you're OK quintwins ..... (((hugs)))

Someone please remind me not to cook a whole chicken on a Weds night again - far to difficult during the week:o

However, I did pick it last night & make Chicken & Leek Risotto for dinner (LO for tonight:)) and get my stock done .... but was struggling as I work late on a Thurs & it really was the last thing I felt like doing!

Must remember to leave things like this until the weekends!:)

Hoping for a very minimal spend the next few days - popping to DMs and she's asked me to bring some eggs from the farm shop (90p for XL - and lovely as you can see the chooks outside enjoying their freedom). She will give me the money back but will get a box for myself whilst there!

For those that are operating a second purse

Can you tell me do you count the items when you buy them from the super (discounted price) or do you add them into your totals when you get them from "your" store (full price) :)
    SueP19
You pay for the goods at the SM with money that is in your 2nd purse, and buy them back out of your grocery budget the week you use them. Hope that helps, and sorry if lots of others have answered. When I buy things back I split the difference between the full price and the sale price, not quite as much goes back into the purse then, but I like to feel that I'm still getting my goods at a discounted rate! lol

Todays Sainsburys own brand OJ was 62p a litre but the Princes brand was half price at 55p a litre so I stocked up on two OJs and an apple juice.
Yesterday on t.v. someone said that because of the failure of Brazil's OJ crop the prices would go through the roof within a month.I like concentrate OJ and fruit juices, but try not to pay more than around 60p a litre for it,so its well worth stocking up if you can

I really want to make today a NSD, there is nothing that I actually NEED, but with such a good offer on the toilet rolls, I am seriously fighting the urge to stock up more. Is it more ms to stock up now and save a few £ in the long run, or keep to what I have (3 packs) and hope that there will be another offer on before we need more.....hmmmm.

    Sproggi

Only you can answer that based on the crucial questions:
Can you afford to buy more?
Have you got room to store them?
    Will you use them?

The third one is obviously yes.
By the way, I found a 12 pack of lovely thick soft toilet rolls I had forgotten about so maybe add

Will I remember where I put them?

You could always treat them as a form of temporary loft insulation if you can't resist them :rotfl:
