Hi, don't know if anyone has answered this already, as I've just nipped on, but my friend always freezes her leftover roasties, then when she has enough, that's a meal's worth of potatoes! Personally, I don't freeze mash (uless it's in a fishcake or similar), as I don't like the post-freezer texture of it. I am another one who does not freeze mash, I dont really like frozen veg apart from sweetcorn and peas. I do however freeze veg if its in something, like a ratatouille, bombay potatoes, cauliflower cheese, green beans in a white sauce or baked red cabbage etc. I think they freeze better.0

Small spends of £6.50 at farm shop on beef mince for a vat of bol sauce; £2.99 (!!!) in C*-op on Lurpak spreadable - I know, £2 in A$da but not worth the trip, and £1.80 in MrS on milk and yoghurt. Just under target for this stage of the month, which is fab!
Lovely weekend to all!0 -
So excited about having placed my first order with Appr*ved F**ds, bumped it up to get free delivery by buying enough loo rolls (30p/roll) to last till next Christmas I imagine. Why didn't I know about that site before...? Are there any other similar places out there anyone can recommend? This bargain hunting is soooo addictive!0

Can anyone recommend the best place (ie cheapest
) place to buy yeast for a bread machine?
Coming to the end of my sachets but thinking there must be a cheaper alternative!
MM
I stumbled across a forum and found out that this type of yeast is sold under the name of Fermipan and comes in 500g packs and is much cheaper.
LSS I found a wholesaler that sells it and who have just opened a branch near me (less than a mile away) so I went off there to buy a pack and it cost me - DRUM ROLL !!!!!! £1.79 for 500g !! Have used it today (thought I should check it before posting) and its fab. It is vacume (s?) packed
I have filled my little 100g tin up (keeps in fridge) and the rest is in the freezer.

To order online you need to register which I did. I went to the depot. There is a customer payment till where you pay and they give you the receipt and you go to a seperate collection point. There is no minimum order and no minimum card limit :-). If you do go to the deport you can pick up their 'offers' leaflets which make VERY interesting reading!
If you order online and pay online you need to print your receipt at home and then you can go straight to the collection point so bypassing the customer tills. I guess it works out cheaper for them if you don't use their customer services. There is also a delivery option.

Evening All!
Well we got back from our trek to MrT and L*dl somewhat lighter in money but overall quiteish pleased. Both OH and I was hungry which could have turned into a disaster but got him out of MrT and into L*dl quickly enough!!!;)
MrT again didn't have the P*rs*l Colour in stock  but at least they had the Bio so got a couple of those now up in the attic. They always have their own brand conditioner coming on and off a theoretically 'reduced' price but it's cheaper than the well known brands, and as I have a tendency to rash up with some detergents/conditioners (can't go near L*n*r for some reason  ) and I know this one is ok, so I got two of the big bottles of that too.
L*dl had a very much smaller stack of the loo roll than the one near my work had yesterday and so we went with five packs in the end.According to my spreadsheet (and logic seeing as I bought the far worse offer from MrT last week  ) this means I shouldn't need to buy any more until at least October. Very pleased about that.
I also got 8 packs of Welsh butter, some Welsh cheese and OH got some of the smelly sausages that he loves and swears are delicious. _pale_ I wouldn't go near them with a bargepole but than again I don't eat any kind of sausage not even from our lovely butcher. I'm iffy with meat at the best of times and once its been 'processed' I'm done for!
Got a couple of loads of washing done and on the line today, not completely dry but at least fresh air and it only takes a short time to get them completely dry indoors. Also took the Dyson for a dance through the house, now that was a wake up call! Three times the bin got emptied! Sig is updated.
Ok, starting to witter now :silenced: so I'll leave you lovely people to it.
See you all tomorrow,

NSD today...so far...but the angel on the left shoulder and the devil on the right are currently debating the merits of ordering a pizza! You know when you just can't be bothered to cook...and a home-delivered pizza sounds soooo tempting? And when the makings of a meal don't immediately jump out at you when you check your cupboards/fridge? But you know that if you order a pizza, you'll *have* to order the stuffed jalapenos as a side order, and that you'll probably only eat the jalapenos and one slice of pizza and then you'll be full? And then the rest of the pizza will have to be eaten for breakfast...?

I've never heard of the firm, but used the store locator and my closest is just over 8 miles from me..... could well be worth a trip out
Does this kind of yeast freeze OK? It's not something I've ever thought to try. And it says on the webpage not to keep in a fridge - do you not have any problems from keeping it there?Cheryl0
