Grovelling & amendments done, I can now confess to my own spending spree :o.

I have been searching for the perfect dark brown cardi for about 2 years now, I had a Jane Norman one that was just too short & the sleeves were too tight but I kept it to go over a work dress. It still annoyed me each time I had to wear it though .

I'd kind of given up ever finding one but had to pop in to town on Friday to pick up my new glasses ( 2 for 1 in specsavers & ready in just 48 hours too :T) so though I'd have a mooch about while there.

I was really please with my news glasses & on leaving the store I saw a Big Issue seller so had a chat & bought a copy. As usual Lulas Karmic Reward was fairly instant; I wandered into H&M & there, on the sale rail was the perfect cardi, in the perfect colour & my size :j. It's really great, has 2 little pockets & a drawstring so it can be shaped to fit so I'm delighted as it was just £10 :D. I bought DD a sweet white t shirt with a red sequin heart & the words 'follow your heart & dreams' for just £5.99.

Then I popped in to TKMaxx & there was a fab pair of blue shimmery ankle strap shoes for just £7.99 so I had them too :p

Wardrobe re-arranged & 4 items hanging on the door ready to be released for charitizing/ebahing & the old brown cardi is packed in a bag & ready to go too ;).

I reckon that now, about 80% of my wardobe is from ebay :rotfl:Going to try to avoid shops again for a couple of weeks, I really enjoyed that trip, but could so easily slip back into mindless buying, just because I think an item is beautiful ...

    Be good :D

    De-lurking to comment!!!

Make sure you check if the jeans are skinny or super skinny as I find I'm an 18 in super skinny and 16 in skinny.

Hope this is of use X

Ahhh, thanks for de-lurking, I feel rather privilaged x Both the Primark and Matalan jeans were marked as 'skinny' as opposed to super skinny, or jeggins - although they were made out of a softer fabric than normal denim. I expect they would've stretched over time but I'm not sure I could've worn them for that long without developing dvt from lack of circulation. Matalan ones all returned yesterday so £40 back to my cc :A now just need to decide between Zara and Republic ones.

Lula - well done on finding that elusive cadri :T. I had a similiar situation where one I'd had from Gap really had seen better days and needing replacing - problem was, I didn't really want a new cardi, I just wanted the one I already had but looking new again. In the end I did find one to replace it from UniQlo, but had to force myself to throw out the old one as I kept looking at the new one thinking 'but it's just not quite the same'

    hello all

Had a freedom day yesterday and again today, freed up a mantaray plum woolie tunic and wore different coloured long sleeved t shirt underneath. Am well chuffed. Seems to fit better now than when I bought it!

wonder what I can dig out of the wardrobe tomorrow and free.

on my quest for some coloured skinny jeans I have found that both a size 8 in Primarni and Matalan are way way way too small and even a 10 is a tight fit. Yet in Zara - 8 fits no problem  WHO is doing this sizing and why on earth is this style of jean varying so much?

I think that the difference is the quality. My Matalan super skinny's stretch quite quickly - so you struggle to get them on the first day but by the next day they're fine. My experience of Zara ones is that there's less elastic in them so they don't stretch as much. I assume because of this they mark them as the real size, whereas Matalan mark them as the size they are after a few hours of wear!

    That's my theory anyway!

  • Freedom Day yesterday and Saturday!

Saturday night hubby & I weren't sure what we were doing, so when I got out of the shower I decided to put something on that would be comfy enough around the house, but stylish enough to go to the pub if we fancied. So I freed a 3/4 sleeved black knitted mini dress and purple tights - neither of which I've worn for over a year! Hubbie commented how nice it looked when he got home from footie, without any prompting!!

On Sunday, I freed a dog-tooth brown/beige jumper dress that I bought in Tenerife in (I think) 2009. I've NEVER worn it! The reason being that it looks lovely from the front, but highlighted my tummy from the side (normally I wear dark colours/less clingy fabrics). I also got some new boots at Christmas which are a much better colour match to wear it with. And in a stroke of genius, I threw on a chunky knit cardi which completed the look! Now a dress I haven't worn is my new favourite !

Thanks for the Freedom Day Concept!!

morning ladies, just got back from holiday to Tenerife:):):)lovely time and great weather BUT the hotle we go to has mirrors every where:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:OMG weighed myself today 84 kilos so BMI 29:eek::eek::eek::eek:I blame the shops for abandoning British standard sizes,I used to be size 14 and weighed 10 stone now am size 12 and weigh 13 stone no wonder we get overweight!!!
did a little shopping in Mango and tried a jumper size med(far too big) and bought a cardi size XL which is just about ok!!!!not even in the same shop can you get consistant sizing.I had wanted a different cardi that I had seen online in the UK cost £30 but was too small the price in tenerife was 30 euros and seemed all the clothes were the same.I spent 19 euros on the cardi(I chose a coral colour that will go with lots of skirts rathetr than a white with print that would only go with white pants)so now my balance is £340.
also bought a lovely handbag but as keep bags etc for years I dont include them in budget.

Hi all, well so far this week i've released a pair of combats from the bottom of the wardrobe that haven't been worn since I needed maternity clothes (my little one is now 3)
I've also found a pair of jeans with a knee missing but think i'll take a pair of scissors to them and 'create' a new pair of shorts ready for my hols in may.

When i find something that really suits my bodyshape i like having more than one incase it gets lost/ ruined :embarasse actually it means once they arrive i'll have seven of these dresses! (5 in navy and 2 in pink!) lol
