flyingmamma wrote: »Jan was the first month in the past ten years I have not bought a stitch of clothing and I am chuffed to bits! I didn't think it was possible! I set myself a really tough budget of £ 100 this year as I have no space whatsoever for clothes and I always seem to wear the same things! I got a new job out of the blue a few days ago so will need to get a few smartish things! Have only spent £35 on clothes for my 2 young kids too....miracle! Got 2 new coats with matching hats and scarves for next year!Bargain! Have asked relatives for clothes/gift vouchers for birthdays this year too as the house is coming down with toys!
This site has really motivated me...don't want to sound like a complete idiot but today I set up online banking and opened an e saving account! Gonna save a pound a day for xmas and hopefully won't feel the pinch next Dec!
The site is brilliant, isn't it?! :j
Yesterday I spent £29 on coloured opaque tights and hold-ups - will update my wardrobe whilst losing weight.
Today I bought a skinny polo neck from Asda (£10) to go under my fabulously warm wool jumper that's also fabulously itchy!0 -
I've just found this thread and read all the posts and I'd like to join in if it's not too late. I think I'll set my target to £20 a month so that's a scary total of £240 for the year for everything except shoes - I have trouble finding ones to fit my funny feet so always seem to pay loads for them.
Please can I have a number?
So far this year I've spent £5 on 3 pairs of socks from M&S so Ill knock that off the total when I do my siggy. Luckily I hate shopping in the sales! However, now I've found out about a few sites on here I may start browsing...
I'm at that funny age where my shape has changed and I'm not sure how to dress; I wear jeans to work (messy job) so don't get many opportunities to dress up. I have quite a lot of lovely clothes but I know they'll get ruined at work so they lurk unworn in the wardrobe most of the time. If I don't wear them soon I won't fit in them. I'll have to try some freedom weekends
And yes, despite being 51 I still wear hoodies with jeans (OH complains but meh to him!) until DD nicks them
That's all for now

Hello & welcome to out lovely warm cosy challenge rosyq :hello:
I've added you to the members list on the first page & you have number 119 to look after. Please keep it warm, feed it tea & cake & it will look after you & your spends
No further spends for me yet, I've just had my hours /salary reduced so very glad I've got a strict clothes budget for this year. My eldest Dd finally returned a cardi that she borrowed in October last year, & I'm really pleased because it's perfect for going over the new dress I bought in January, so long since I've seen it, it felt like a new item :rotfl:0 -
My first spend of the year last Sunday on a swimming costume. Off on holiday over Easter (can't wait!) and I don't do bikinis.
In Tesco, went to look at the school shirts for my daughter, "happened" to go past the swimwear and saw a nice one for £14 - plain black so will go with any sarong.
Worried it was a bit low cut when I wore it swimming last week. OH said he liked it, so it probably is :rotfl: Might have to sew it up a bit like my last one....
Very pleased that I managed to find a hat, scarf and gloves in the cupboard this year so didn't have to buy any new ones like I usually do - really don't know where they go, in my house it is worse than socks!0 -
Hi everybody,
I wear a hoodie from time to time, although not worn it this winter and this would be the time of year that I would wear it.
But can I ask, do any of you wear it with the hood up? Just curious.
I don't, but neither do I wear hats in winter, I have curly hair and I don't like it when it has been flattened.0 -
I am determined to not buy any clothes for the rest of Feb and concentrate on wearing what I already own to free it from the wardrobe and get it worn!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550

Uh oh, big spends to declare from last night, I was at the computer doing an assignment and this is usually how it happens... I was just 'checking' the Grabbits board and found there's a code stacking offer at Warehouse that works on sale items too!
I don't shop there often but the few times I did, their stuff looks great and really good quality.
Placed 4 orders in total, kept seeing more things I wanted haha
a grey office dress -£14
black blazer/coat -£18
black cape jumper - £9
orange going out dress - £10
total spend- £51
monthly budget- £20
I'm kinda hoping half of it won't fit so I'll have to send it back, then it won't break the bank :rotfl:0 -
I often wear hoodies indoors and on hangover/days out walking or Center Parcs. I do wear the hood up, but only around the house & when it's exceptionally cold out!
I freed a purple jumper the other week by wearing a white shirt under it (it's a bit low cut & itchy otherwise) - wearing it again now
Went to the Trafford Centre yesterday to get a friend's birthday present. 4 of us chipped in on some £70 shoes  she best like 'em!! They are gorgeous - but luckily I hate having sore feet so don't often wear heels that are over 3 inches, I also hate having bare legs on nights out, so that limits shoes to courts and boots - all in all that reduces my spend on shoes!!
I also took back the purle tunic dress I mentioned a few pages back - but it was in the sale so I only got a gift card. Sure I'll find something to buy later in the year!
I have a job interview this week, so went into Next with the intention of getting a suit - but they were all either too expensive or didn't fit right. I also wanted a new shirt, but there wasn't a single one that had a collar and wasn't see-through! So last night I went through my wardrobe and tried on a suit that I didn't think fitted...but it did! :T I didn't really want to wear a skirt, but it's free so I will!
Question - can I wear black tights and black shoes with a navy suit??Virtual Sealed Pot Challenge #148 - £59.93
