The combination of me being off work and sales is not good - I'm almost (but not quite) glad I'm back to the old grind on Monday.:D

I picked up 2 lovely tops in the French Connection sale today - I'm a bit of a heifer but their stuff is cut really generously. I love their clothes but it is a bit on the pricey side, so I was happy to find these tops at £11.75 each - originally they were £47 each, so a good saving and I had an eye on spring when I spied them.

I also have a couple of internet orders on the go. I've not added these to the spend yet because I want to be sure their keepers first - and I'm not convinced.

    Must. Stop. Shopping.:o

I was hoping to start on DD's wardrobe and sort out ebay, charity , rags etc.

Went back to work today after the festive period and I'm sooooo tired! Dunno what was worse, the early morning or contantly trying to hold my expanding bump in!

Im hoping a wee bite to eat and a swift kick up the "you know what" from the lovely ladies on here, will motivate me to go and do it as I know I will feel much better afterwards!!

Free listing weekend on eBay - that's motivating me, hope it does likewise for you :rotfl:

I know it's a bit off topic but I was wondering which sites you were looking at for patterns? I have got a few clothes that don't fit any more but I'd like to try and use the fabric to make something new rather than buy something new. I did google for some patterns but got a bit overwelmed by it all!!

    Hi,
I was looking at Simplicity patterns as I wanted just a straightforward pattern I could use again and again. Also was looking at Paper Moon at the fabrics and they sell Colette patterns. Vintage inspired styles that I love..bought the Colette sewing book that has 5 patterns in-3 dresses, a top and a skirt which imo are all very wearable...depends what you're looking for. If you're reusing and reworking your old clothes probably best to look for something like a skirt pattern or simple shell top that won't take much fabric. Or maybe remove sleeves, shorten skirt etc instead of totally remaking so wouldn't need a pattern??

I love the Colette book and am currently planning on trying one of the patterns to make a skirt with a piece of vintage furnishing fabric I picked up at a car boot ages ago for 50p.

found a way to stop me buying clothes....bit extreme tho.........been under the weather recently and went to the docs yesterday....I may be a/ diabetic,b/ have thyroid problems,c/have heart problems or d a combination of all three or something totally different:eek::(
having an ECg and blood tests next week, thing is would pobably need to lose weight if any are true so then would need more clothes which in the long run will make me buy more I guess:rotfl:(would stop in the short term as no point buying clothes now if need to slim)

Sorry to hear you feeling under the weather at the moment rosemary54 - sending big hugs :grouphug: and hope the tests go all ok - yeah I'd wait to hear what the results are first before deciding what to do clothes wise.

  • Evening all, glad to report no clothing spends so far this year!
I got a text from my favourite vintage shop today to advise there was 20% off all stock for today only. As I was in the vicinity, it crossed my mind to pop in "just for a look". It took all of my powers to resist, as I knew that I would come out with armfuls if I went anywhere near the place.
In a bit of a dilemma, I donated all of my work suits a few weeks ago, I have a job interview on monday and no "workey" clothes that fit.

Keep up the good work y'all and glad to welcome the newcomers

    Evening girlies -

No more spends to report :)

I recieved my internet orders today - and lets just say im not overly bothered about my dress costing me more, because it is a load of rubbish.

I took the effort to re-buy tonight, and wish i hadnt bothered making the effort to go to the shop.

Lots of returns to do, but oh well, unshopping doesnt cost as much as shopping lol.

No more spends for myself on the horizens either. Apart from I got a £5 voucher for newlook and could do with a new work cardigan :) so that may cost me a few pounds extra.

my allowance for this month that iv earnt from work food is £10.80 lol, cant get a lot out of that now can i haha.

    So monthly allowance remaining:
    £73. - up until 1st february.
Including two trips - one to manchester one to london where ordinarily id have got through the £70 in both places twice!

I have 2 pairs with holes in and really need some!
Or does anyone know a way of fixing welly holes?
wellies are essentials and not clothes!
