  • And me please! :j

No idea what to set as my budget - has to be less than 2011's total :o, though that shouldn't be difficult. I will need some new summer sandals, hiking trainers/ boots, and my brown boots will have to be replaced next autumn (they should just about survive til spring but won't be good enough to wear for work afterwards). And will have to face up to jeans shopping as the hems are fraying on mine... and that means the endless trying-on trawl - unless I just buy more of my current ones off Ebay. I also need to replace some underwear as shockingly, I didn't buy any in 2011 *faints*. And I need to reconsider my work wardrobe as several summer 2010 dresses have lost all their stretch :(

Put me down for £500 please  that's chopping this year's spend in half so should be a sufficient challenge :rotfl:

  • Oooh this sounds like the challenge I need! I need to lose weight so will not be buying anything new until I can get in the 2 pairs of jeans in my drawer that are far too tiny for me!Also apparently I have too many shoes (didn;t think that was possible lol) so will be wearing them out over the next year.
Setting my budget for myself at £100!

ooohhh good luck all but this ones not quite for me...

However my sister went a whole year oct 2010 to oct 2011 without buying any clothes cos she had too much to use up and wore a uniform to work. She said she realised alot more about combining clothes together to change the look and adding accessories and even now she finished her challenge she hasnt really bought much unless it matches several things - so that must be the key .........

    enjoy

    Welcome SuziQ1962 & Flacos Floozie - you're on the list :d

Thanks for the lucky wishes Cranny44 - I'm in awe of your sister & I could probably get by without buying any new clothes for a year ... but it wouldn't be much fun when I took my daughter shopping so think I'll just try to curb my spends ! Previous challenges have taught me the value of hauling everything out of the wardrobe every so often & then just throwing different outfits together.

The lovely fedupandskint introduced us all to 'Freedom Clothes' last year, whereby we liberate something from the dark recesses of the wardrobe & wear it regardless. Sometimes it turns out to be a horror, other times it's a joyful revelation :)

Now where is she ..... ?
  • Hello everyone  I'm in again this year. 2010 I did really well and stayed within £100 budget but this year being debt free I decided not to stick to it. 2012 I've decided to join the frugal living challenge so here I am again :T

My budget is £400 but that is for everything - shoes, clothes work + play, undies, sports wear (am going to start training in earnest for a triathlon in June :D) I have boots which I splashed out in this year so won't need any next) do need to update my work wardrobe & I could do with a few dresses) anyway enough of the rambling! x

Can I join too please? I am going to aim for £100 but will try to make it even less than that. Hopefully getting a sewing machine soon and so I can customise and repair what I have. My clothes budget can then go towards paying my overdraft!

    Sign me up please.
I have loads of clothes and so have been for a while only buying actually what I need.
I am 50 next year so will splash out on an outfit for my party so think I will set my budget at £260.
Tomorrow I will sort my wardrobe out and see what I actually have and what can be worn together in various guises.
I have a uniform for work, may need a new pair of black trousers next year but wont need any white shirts at all as have about 6.
    Looking forward to it

Hi plese can you sign me up as well? I failed miserable last year but i did lose two dress sizes in weight and bought a whole new wardrobe! Unfortunately i have put some on and gone up one size but am determined to get on my bike and lose it again as i'm not buying bigger sized clothes again! However i have gone back to work now so will be needing new trousers and shoes at some point so although it sounds alot, (but it is cutting down quite a bit on my usual spending) i will try to stick to a budget of 300.00 (sorry my puter son't do pound signs!) x
