The new waterproof/windproof jacket is a real beaut. Especially the windproof qualities.
Looking like a no spend October:D

    Hello all!

Almost managed a no spend October but had to buy some boots when I realised my old pair of boots were no longer waterproof and had a nail head sticking up from the heel. Tried taping over it and putting in insole but rubbed right through to my sock, grrr! (they were cheap from Primarni last year)
My only other boots have a hihg heel, no good for day to day wear.

So bought a pair from BHS/Evans (got tree trunk legs!) for £49.50, eek!

Just popping in to declare a no spend October! :D

I'm beginning to make a mental list of clothes that need replacing in January 2013 as I can see my heels through most of my socks! To be fair I have had them for years but they are really on their last legs now.

I've lost weight since I started this journey too, so I'm looking forward to mooching round the charity shops for my next pair of work trousers.
If I can find a couple of pairs of black leggings too that would be grand as the bum is wearing a bit thin on the 2 pairs I use for the gym.
I also need a new swimming costume as the one I have is now 3 sizes too big and is getting a bit awkward to swim in!
Need to get re-measured for bras too as I can't tighten the ones I have any more!

10 months down and that's all I need. This has been a real education into what I have in my wardrobe already and not buying just for the sake of it. 2 months to go!

Well done Antwacky, another month done :T

My tattiest 'daily' socks are almost see-through on the heels too. I've stitched a little tag of coloured cotton on the inside of the cuff so that I can couple them more easily :) They're actually doing well as I bought them from Mr T's 6 years ago :rotfl:

Another no spend month for me too.

As predicted, I made the month.
I don't know whether to be angry that I bought so many clothes last year/the early part of this year or grateful in that I won't need to buy anything at all for such a very long time!

  • I spent £19.95 on a pair of trainers. Still quite a bit of my budget left so perhaps my spending on clothes wasn't as bad as I initially thought.

I spent £15 on a jnavy acket reduced from £35, £9 on a pair of spotted navy chino's primarily for next spring and onwards reduced from £25 and £10 on a pair of patterned jeggings reduced from £35 which I was quite undecided about the burgandy colour and swallow pattern and then promptly lived in them for a week thinking how comfy they were and how much I liked them despite the loudness of the pattern!

Pleased with all of them and total spend was £34 for 2 pairs of trousers and a jacket - got to love those sales!

Trying hard not to buy anything for November - not sure if I'll do it though!

  • Hello all:wave:

I've been a lurker on here for a long time but hadn't officially joined the thread. Obviously i haven't done this this year but i would like to just pop my head up for the last two months and then i will join properly with next years challenge (already got a budget in mind). I haven't really saved much money clothing wise this year but i have been enjoying the idea of freeing up clothes that i haven't worn in a while. I'm currently wearing a new cardigan (it was only a tenner to be fair and it is lovely and warm) with some boots i haven't worn in ages and a floral skirt from Joe Browns that i bought three years ago in a sale and have never worn! So i'm hoping that i don't spend anything on clothes in the next couple of months to get myself ready for next years challenge.
