I've made a pledge to buy no more clothes for 5 years unless I need too because something is genuinely worn out . Wonder if I can stick to my pledge? Hope so!0

my phase eight box came today:)I am keeping all but the red jacket which looks awful:(so ins are 1 skirt,1 tshirt and two shrugs which came to £81 - 8% off quidco so much better than the £261 original cost before I send back the sizes that don't fit! so total now down from £262 so about £188:)am going out for a meal with DH and friends and am wearing the new skirt
Belladonna Skirt
with a pink cami (KEW) and green shrug (East) and green flat shoes(East)and am really pleased with the way all the colours match despite being different brands:)
the other items also go with with stuff I already have and am esp pleased to get a £55 shrug I had fancied for ages for £19:j....just makes you wonder where the original prices come from?????think the skirt was £69 down to £34:)

Wow, Five years! Now that's a challenge :T
The last item I purchased was a dress from the charity shop in June 2011, so I've just gone one year, not sure I could manage five years though.
I wish you all the best and hope that you stay around to keep us informed of how you're doing.

No, still nothing and it's half past June:D‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Wow I'm impressed! With the weather being the way it is I'll be buying no more summer stuff this year. I didn't manage a spend free May - bought a pair of shorts for a fiver. This month a dress reduced from £45 to £7.49 and a 3/4 sleeved buttonless cardi to match a top I bought in March, £6.99 with the 50% off voucher I got on buying the dress!
That's it though. No more. Will try and get a winter coat from the CS or use Amazon gift certs.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
I realised today I haven't bought any new shoes since last Sept when I got my Red or Dead boots, and they don't really count as OH bought them for my b'day..thinking back, I was given my Converse in Aug, so the last pair of shoes I actually bought (and kept) was around a year ago :eek: (it was either a pair of sandals for our hol last May, or some black pull on calf length boots from TKM which I've worn tons :A)Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Wow, some of you are doing so well! I seem to buy clothes as a hobby rather than necessity

I am getting better though, and actually doing the grocery challenge helps because I'm thinking harder about everything I buy. I spend on books and sewing things still, but less often and with more thought. So I'm getting there slowly!

I think baby steps are the way to go, just stretch your comfort zone a little bit and before you know you'll wonder why you weren't doing it sooner.
Well done for getting there, it's not a race, it's a journey.:D
Very well done to everybody who have really cut back their purchases, and a very well done to those who have bagged some bargains.:)0 -
