    Good morning everyone,

I've just updated the No Spends in March list, so if there's anyone I've missed, do let me know. I'm very impressed at you all so well done :A

Happy new wardrobe to medsdemon & moggymalone, how lovely to
re-kit yourselves entirely & very well deserved.

I had loads of bids on ebay for cheap summer tops but it seems that no one bid until the last few minutes & stuff that I placed £3 bids on ended up going for over £15, for a pre-loved t-shirt top, really ?!

I sifted through my seasonal trunk of clothes & was surprised & very pleased to find that in fact, I do have 3 or 4 white tops so don't need to buy any. I would like maybe a couple of other coloured ones, but will hunt in CS shops or probably as I'm very tight on budget now, the dreaded primarni where they tend to be cheaper than CS :( There is always the M&S gift card, but I will need new leggings & or tights so trying to save that for those purchases.

    Good luck for April :D

I'm not very good at summer clothes but since I've lost some weight I have absolutely no clothes to wear to work when it gets warmer. I bought 2 pairs of trousers (1 smaller than the other as I want to lose more weight) and 3 tops from Monsoon for work (usually at least one thing from Monsoon gets returned after declaring it on this thread!). I've also bought 2 skirts from charity shops.

My total is getting dangerously high, but I'm enjoying my clothes more than I have done for years.

    £213 to declare

Oh dear... another spend to declare... Not even an exciting one!

Today I bought a pair of super stomach, thigh & bum holding-in tights (v bridget jones) for a party on saturday, where I am wearing a dress I haven't worn for a while! They were £9. *looks ashamed*

ALTHOUGH, I am not buying anything else and it is a proper "party dress" party, and I was really hankering after a new dress. Would have bought a beautiful dress in the local vintage/2nd hand shop for more money than I should have, if it hadn't been a smidgeon too small! So money-wise, that is a relief! ;)

    Total is now £163.04/£300. Eeek.

    I have spends to declare.

Two wool walking shirts that should last me years £99
    A motorbike jacket £99
    Sports bra £18

    :o:o:o

Hangs head in shame. They were all planned purchases and not frivolous but so much money

I need to lie down in a darkened room now to recover from my confession. Nightnight all.

I bought a new coat today, it was much needed and in the sale so £45.50 is going to be added to my total.

evening all, March was a washout for me, I seem incapable of going a whole month without buying an item of clothing. I have not bought a thing in April so far, and am going to keep it that way.
I haven't updated my signature, I have a little bit of a mental block, but will trawl through receipts and get to it.
At this rate I will exceed my budget by May. grrr

    Hello DarwinsMum,

that's why I haven't posted for ages. I have probably broken my years limit and I'm finding it really difficult to face up to.:o

So just pick yourself up, dust yourself down and start over again :) We'd love to see more of you, or anybody who is struggling with the challenge, we know it's not easy, that's why it's called a challenge.

If being part of the challenge makes you think twice before buying something, even if you then go on to buy the item, at least you're thinking about your purchases and not just blindly shopping. If being part of the challenge stops you from buying one item per month, that's 12 items over the year, which will probably amount to a significant amount. So please keep with us :D

I think I blasted my year's budget in March :o thanks to those pesky mid season sales.

It all started out so well, with me using some HoF vouchers I had from Consumer Pulse to buy a much wanted purple silk top from Phase Eight. However then the same top in black turned up in the sale and oops I just had to have it.

M&S had a sale and I got a beautiful lightweight black coat for £54 which was something I really needed, but it was still quite a lot for a sale item.

Then COS had their sale and I got 2 cardigans which will last for years but one was £50 and the other £30. Plus I ordered a dress for my holiday which was £60. So the budget is well and truly through the roof!!!

In my defence I did have a good lot of sales on eBay and have a few more bits up for sale at the moment, and will get more on during the free listing Easter weekend. But I can't even face doing the sums :rotfl:
