Hello all, I feel spurred on to get back on the no spend wagon after taking a bit of time to read some of the recent posts. I now realise that I have been unduly hard on myself and doing the beat up behaviour after every spend serves no purpose apart from to make me feel miserable. I also suspect that I set the budget unrealistically low, as I didnt account for the need for new work clothes.

I have 2 double wardrobes and a walk in closet heaving - mostly with stuff I dont wear, nor even like. I have had another chuck out over the last couple of days, but then get it into my head that I need to buy things to replace what I have just gotten rid of. It's getting on my nerves. There aren't enough days in the year to wear all of my clothes. Time for a re-think.
When I did a previous challenge I found it really helpful to post everyday, perhaps this is the way forward for me.
I can't even update my signature entirely, as I have "accidentally" misplaced the receipts. groan.
    enjoy your easter everyone

After feeling inspired by the posts on here by those who haven't spent for a while or at all, I'm going to join in with the no spends too.

I've topped up with sale items after weight loss and also dug some summer sandals out of the wardrobe so don't need anymore of these once the summer arrives. Both in tan and a low and higher wedge which will be worn all summer I expect

I'm on a mission to wear everything in the wardrobe too and get rid of anything that doesn't fit, makes me look and feel frumpy and I haven't worn for at least a year.

Have done this with the autumn winter wardrobe and once the summer stuff comes out I'll do the same with that

I've got enough to keep going apart from a couple of white and cream tops but these can wait until May and I'll see if I can stick to my resolve for April

Good luck Fedupandskint - love the name. I am fed up of being skint, hence my challenge. Don't get me started on toiletries. Am I the only person with no hair who has 6 bottles of shampoo and countless bottles of conditioner?
    great day all

I'm less fed up now than when I joined however still skint. So working on this part now the fedupness has gone away for good :D

just wanted to drop in and give all those who feel they are struggling a virtual hug. Everyone has different motivations for doing this (and other) challenges but as Kerfuffle said, if it stops us buying just one item a month, that's 12 items a year.

Even if you do go over budget, at least we're all thinking about what we're buying, which hopefully means fewer items left unworn in the wardrobe, and that means you're still wasting less money - if that makes sense?

I must address the small pile of clothes left on the spare bed from my sort out - they were things that need to be altered, de-bobbled and fixed. One cardi was in the '?' pile to whether or not I kept it, but I've worn it quite a lot so think that will be de-bobbled and put back into my wardrobe.

Just a quick mention for de-fuzzing/de-bobblers - the 'proper' ones - JML- are brilliant for restoring clothes. Several jumpers have been revived by them in Chez And, and stopped me from buying more.
For those not wanting to buy any toiletries either, you will be more than welcome over at the Toiletries Challenge.

Thanks for that Mculloch29, I have joined the toiletries challenge in an attempt to keep me focused. Aiming to get to the end of April without buying any more toiletries or makeup.

Sorry, I haven't been on this thread for aaaages!

I was doing so well, hadn't spent much at all on clothes. Then we had the spell of hot weather recently and I realised I have no summer clothes at all!

My current balance then on my signature is mainly made up of ebay purchases which were mostly carefully considered.

I got two pairs of leggings
    A pair of shorts
    6 vest tops
    A 'going out' top
    Sunglasses
    A skirt

The remainder of my balance for the year is now left to top up my winter wardrobe if needed later in the year.

Really hoping I can stick to budget, only in month 4 and am 3/4 of the way through it already!

Thanks for this kerri gt I needed a boost. I said I could feel an attack of the spends coming on didn't I - after spending on friday I've done it again today and bought some new walking trousers, a shirt and 4 t-shirts. I need to update my sig but I've totally blown my budget. Maybe I was unrealistic when I set it.

So Lula-Hula please can I revise my budget to £500 and I've spent £334.20 of that. Oh dear :(:(:(

On the plus side I've got out my summer stuff and have plenty really so I shall try hard to wear what I've got and avoid the shops.

had to dig out my boots again this weekend as winter came back:(wore my new flat sensible shoes on thursday(I have a horror of buying shoes due to fat odd sized feet...sandals are much easier:rotfl:)I had put a heel grip on the left smaller foot but by the time i walked to church my heel was sore and bleeding...can't see why as the heel grip is smooth!!!also had to stuff toes with tissue to stop shoe falling off:(...right shoe is a perfect fit!!!!Ironically my dance shoes are soooo comfy even though they have heels!!!!

still no more clothes as want to lose at least another stone,I do want some linen trousers(Next) but the 14s I waer now are a bit big and 12s a bit small....i remember when marks did sizes 13 and 15 which suited me well,my problem is big waist /small hips so if they are too big on the waist they fall down:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:had this problem with my gardening jeans a while ago, luckily we were not overlooked then(tho sadly new houses mean we are now:()

have worn new(mystery shop) bra a couple of times now and very uplifting and surprisingly comfy...just wish I could fasten it behind my back myself as I catch my skin(psoriasis) when i fasten at the front and pull round
