I echo that, you're already making steps by recognising the spending and being on here :T I find it's all about trying to find that balance that works for you, and everyone's balance will be different - I find the challenges really help give me a focus too.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Good afternoon all:) Well done to all those sticking to their budgets - and to those struggling don't worry, at least this challenge makes you think about where your money is going.
Have been on annual leave this week but my clothes sense has been thrown out of the window as spent much of it in rags as in decorating/painting mode.Been wearing a very fetching old khaki pants with sky blue t shirt with blobs of cream paint for the past three days:rotfl:
But I did go through my car boot clothes stash and completely halved it and 6 bin bags were collected for a local charity so that has tidied up my bedroomhad to dig out my boots again this weekend as winter came backwore my new flat sensible shoes on thursday(I have a horror of buying shoes due to fat odd sized feet...sandals are much easier)I had put a heel grip on the left smaller foot but by the time i walked to church my heel was sore and bleeding...can't see why as the heel grip is smooth!!!also had to stuff toes with tissue to stop shoe falling off...right shoe is a perfect fit!!!!Ironically my dance shoes are soooo comfy even though they have heels!!!!
Rosemary - for the foot that is smaller therefore shoe a bit bigger one little trick you could try is buy a piece of Chiropody felt - or something that is soft and thickish on one side and self adhesive on the other. Where the tongue or front of the shoe is cut the same shape of the tongue and stick this to the underside to the tongue so the soft side of the felt sits on top of your foot,it is like making your foot bigger, therefore taking room up in your bigger shoe. It may just work for you. Perhaps try it with a rough version using kitchen paper and tape first before buying any felt??
If you put a insole in(like the cork ones) in the shoe that is too big you might give yourself a slight leg length difference which could give you aches and pains - the above way just helps to take up room in your shoe not alter the way you walk.
Hope it helps:)Crazy Clothes Challenge 2012 £57.20/£100,CCC 2013 £68.67/£100 ,CCC 2014 £94.32/£100

Morning all!
A few spends to confess to. Bought two pairs of white jeans from my catalogue and two pairs of workpants, both in two sizes, one to wear now and one to wear when I've lost a bit more weight, for a grand total of £23.
Have a good weekend xx0 -
workman now doing downstairs bathroom and kitchen windows so really stuck for things to do:rotfl:will be ok if it does not rain as can do the garden.i have been sorting through my clothes again and have chosen outfits for day out tomorrow, evening dinner with DH which he won at a local hotel tomorrow night, church on sunday and dancing sunday night, have also tried out a purple tshirt with an orange shrug over it to go with a white skirt that has a flower print of green/purple and orange in it.....at least i will be colourful:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
the things I am most in need of at the mo are bags as my small and large brown bags are both falling apart:(used to buy bags in Portsmouth (which for some reason had lots of bag shops)when DS2 was at uni but he has left now and not going there in the near future and two of the shops I used near me have closed so unsure where to try:(
saw the cat food ad where the cat and his owner are choosing things...girl cannot have too many shoes and cat too many tins of food...well wish I had the shelves to put shoes on as mine are all in boxes and I forget what I have got:rotfl:0 -

When you have a spare month or two, why not number the boxes, take photos of all your shoes, and keep a list on your PC of the numbers with their photo & sort the list by colour / type / style?0 -
Feeling proud of myself - I had some shorts I'd bought for my grandson to take back to Primarni (He's 9 and 11/12 is too small, hope the 12/13 fits!)
I managed to avoid any clothing purchases, though I did buy a necklace and earrings to match the cardigan I bought the other week.
I also bought a smallish, stylish backpack, I use these a lot as they keep both hands free. My current main one is a large Nike sports backpack, I wanted something smaller and more stylish. It's a blue -grey background with white geometric patterns and white straps.
They have a good choice of backpacks at the moment, pleased to see this style of bag back in stores.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -

Hello midnightsparkle :hello:
& a very big WELCOME to our challenge, it's great to have you along. I hope you find lots of tips & support to keep the spends away & wish you lots of success.
My final ebay purchase arrived yesterday, fits perfectly, the colour is exactly the shade I was looking for & I'm a very happy bunny :j.
I'm not watching any other items at the moment as my wardobe is now complete, & the sense of relief is great.
It's really chilly here now with a biting wind so I can see me getting my woolly tights out of the trunk again, because it's far too cold for floaty fabrics !0 -
I sense that it may be time to spend money: 1 pair of trainers and 2 bras are circling the drain. And these are the items I find difficult to shop for. Oh well, needs must:D‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.
