Haha! It was great! The theme was "singers" and I was struggling to think of a female who was instantly recognisable, didn't need to spend a lot on the outfit, and wasn't tarty! Jedward meant I was covered up, didn't buy anything, and everyone knew who I was without me explaining it all night!!!

Well done fairy and the rest of the low spenders!

I've been lurking without posting for the last few weeks but am so happy to say I'm continuing to free items from my wardrobe - rather nice red blouse today :) and you are all continuing to come up with great ideas and contribute to keeping my spending low so thanks for the core wardrobe ideas and the chit chat inspiration all :T

I finally gave in mid march and have now bought 2 pairs of summer shoes that I needed (ha!) and some socks for the grand total of £22 (great deals courtesy of the grabbit board:money:)

Some more minimal spending coming though as i need a few summery items for my hols in May :j

Evening all. Forgot to mention I freed a peachy vest top on Sat - bought it in NL last year (poss the year before eeek!) but haven't worn it much. lovely and summery.

I have a feeling i might need some new summer shoes for everyday, I only really have flip flops or trainers or heels, could do with something inbetween.

I have a spend to report; £8 on some jogging bottoms from Asda so I can meet DD there after going to the gym without feeling completely exposed in leggings! Not a good look. I could still do with a long T shirt to cover my bottom too, I really dont like having it on display to all & sundry!

I'm very impressed with all the freedom days going on :)

I have managed to get out of my boots and have been wearing court shoes to work the last few weeks. I had forgotten I had some of these shoes which is good.

I like the sounds of that capsule wardrobe Kerfuffle, I must have a look through my clothes and see what I have and what I might need.

    Morning All

am still no-spend for March, although nearly succumbed to a mac/trenchcoat thingy in the Debenhams sale yesterday. There was only one left in my size, so I walked away from it and will go back after I get paid and hopefully it will have gone, thus saving me £45....

    that's the plan anyway :)

Well, I'm trying to catch up on all the pages I have missed, but Im pleased to announce I have (since 1st Jan 2012) spent not a single penny on new clothes for me or for DH :j

My sister gave me a few binbags of lovely clothes, all Oasis, Warehouse etc (I buy Tesco, Primark lol). So I kept some things that I wanted and have been selling the rest on ebay (she gave me them to sell, I just kept stuff I liked).

Oh, I'm lying! I spent £20 in primark getting two tops, skinny light jeans and a wee pair of slip on trainer type shoes, but this was bought with birthday money my dad gave me, so this doesn't count. Does it?!? :rotfl:
Can't think of anything smart to put here...

I think it's up to you whether you count it or not? e.g.did you include it in your original budget?

  • I've lost count of what I've bought this month - spent £12 on new t-shirts from primani and just bought a new dress in the sale at Awear yesterday for £5 which was originally £50 so i thought it was well worth it. I will try and sit down later and add it all up but i reckon i could be over budget already! :P

Just clearing out the wardrobe and found a pair of black jeans which had diamontes stuck on the back pocket - some of the diamontes had fallen off so i have taken them all off - only problem is you can still see where they were stuck on cuz there is a greyish type of dot! any nifty ideas for patching over this pocket - the jeans are too good to throw away!

    Any ideas !? moggy
  • Really liking the list of staples for your wardrobe - very handy indeed and a good list to refer to when packing for your holidays too!

I've managed to see part of the knickers programme and have to agree its a great idea! i would certainly buy more locally manufactured products if available...although £10 a pair is a bit extravagant but if they last long like M&S does it would be worth it! and they are stylish too ;)
