I find it quite sad that your OHs are interested or are just too plain lazy to put the effort in !

I cannot tell you how, but I am quite imaginative and happy to put the required effort in to please my OH. She never gets footspas etc etc but seems to enjoy our weekends away that I book and this year her main pressie was Vienna in March where we are staying in a boutique hotel and will have a great time !

I guess some men aren't interested enough to try harder which is a shame.
Thanks to MSE I cleared £37k of debt in five years and I was lucky enough to meet Martin to thank him personally.

Many, many years ago, when we first married. I was stupid enough to go clothes shopping with her.

After an eternity of trying on "Outfits" it would be down to a choice of two.
    Which one did I like?
    "You look wonderful in either"

After threats and promises, I would chose one.

Six months later showing said item to Sister, Friend or Acquaintance. "See this. Never been on my back. I only bought it because HE liked it"

Never, ever, try to second guess a woman.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

I'm a terrible person to buy presents for as I'm not really into clothes, jewelry, perfume etc etc, don't listen to music, don't eat chocolates, buy any domestic appliance I need and my chief interests are gardening and textiles, neither of which OH knows anything about., So I make sure my Amazon wish list is up to date and if I want pieces of equipment for a hobby, I send him links as to where to buy them. Then he buys what he likes the look of from this short list and I get a bit of a surprise. I've got some very satisfactory presents this way.

my friend does this for her boyfriend - emails him links of stuff she wants , this is the first year hes bought off it though

....but he bought it all using the joint bank account so she could see where hed spent the money and worked out exactly what she'd got!

and she knew he'd do it too as he'll never use cash!

hmmmmmmmmmmmm how old are you hun? Vienna in March in a boutique hotel is right up my street! if she has to cancel then I will DEFINATELY be available! awww just remembered - I'm Married and my OHs idea of a romantic break is a week in a caravan in Pembroke out of season (ie cold wet and boring)! I just take lots of books and warm clothes and am perfectly content!
  • I win....I got stuff all from H.

He says " I never know what to get you'. He knows I love earrings and necklaces etc but really can't be stuffed to go out and look.

Still our kids got some lovely gifts

We are discussing this on another thread, set up after someone read yours.

I live in my Ugg Kensingtons and my mother bought me these for xmas: http://www.clothingattesco.com/shoes+boots/f+f-faux-fur-trim-worker-boot/invt/az122008/&bklist=icat,4,shop,catgkids,kids-footwear

I am very disappointed to have to admit they actually fit. Honestly, I have no idea how the picture makes them look black - they are grey, bleached grey. Hideous.

my oh did GOOD this year, he gave me money weeks ago to "buy what i want 'cos he never knows what to get' so I did, got lots of bargain things using money off codes glitches etc. :T But then christmas morning I opened an extra box which was a boxed bottle of champagne - his favourite - i don't drink:mad: I gave him a look as if to say wth? I opened the box (~not really sure why!) in inside were 2 chunks of wood and A GORGEOUS DIAMOND ETERNITY RING!!! in the right size as well:T

on the funnier / dodgy side we got some glass coasters that you can put photos in from oh nan and a plastic hook thing for opening ring pull cans from mil:rotfl:
