After 10 years of stupid presents I finally told my hubby in no uncertain terms what I thought of his daft presents. Each year now he asks me for a list, and knows to keep the recipts for everything lol. Not especially romantic but my problem is I can't stand waste, and it really annoys me when he spends money on something I don't like/doesn't fit/cant wear etc, and I'm past the point of smiling sweetly and saying thanks while thinking It'll get put in a drawer and never see the light of day. It works for us, I give him a list he might buy a couple of things on it, and maybe spend a small amount on a surprise, which I can cope with as it's not much money. He doesn't really have to worry about what to get me, and I don't spend Christmas day feeling annoyed at him lol0

My OH has learned from his father. His Dad bought his mum white kitchen goods for christmas and birthday presents - then when they got divorced, tried to claim them in the settlement, only to be told that as they were bought as presents they were hers!! So although I got a blender this year, it was not as a christmas present!!! He is useless at presents - usually buying me something technical / computerised that he thinks would be a good idea!Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -

Elfster can be great for compiling a wish list of things you'd like. Then, other people can mark it as bought. You won't be able to see it's been bought, but other people will, so they don't buy you the same thing.
I don't know how some guys get gifts so wrong. OH repeatedly asks for ideas of things I'd like, and then he gets them. Sometimes he needs a bit of guidance about where to get them from, but that's all.
Then again, if he bought me a multipack of crisps I'd be happy! hahahaha Maybe I ought to up my standards??!! :rotfl::rotfl:February wins: Theatre tickets0
