Shockingly blatant queue jumping at NEXT!

A lot of queuing time could be reduced if people got out their purses/wallets while they were waiting in said queue and were ready to pay once the cashier had punched everything into the till.
I was behind someone the other day (not NEXT because I can't stand the place) and the woman almost looked in horror when she was told the amount and then her and her husband had a debate as to who had money and then were scrabbling around in bags looking for money.0 -
Happened to me in Sports Direct just before Christmas. There were 2 tills open, one straight ahead and the other to the right, and there were about 15 of us waiting to pay.
One of the cashiers shouted for help, and 2 others opened their tills to the far left, suddenly all these people started marching up to pay for their items when they hadn't even queued, and when the "next please" call was shouted, the cashiers never bothered to send those marching straight up to the back of our queue. A woman behind me kept saying "QUEUE'S HERE" which was ignored by customers and staff.
When I was next in line, the "next please" shout came and I ran to the far left till and told the lad serving that there was a large queue to the right who had been kept waiting over 10 mins + because there were people pushing in and they were allowing it to happen.
Next thing, anyone just sauntering up to the till was prompty sent to the back of the queue. In SD case, it's very easy to queue jump because there is no queue barrier. It's no wonder people get angry, some people have no manners.BEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.

I love a bargain the same as the next person and each to their own as to how they get it-but I would never queue outside a shop in freezing cold weather just for more 'stuff'.
I wouldn't even queue for four hours to get a 3 piece all leather, all singing and dancing three piece suite for 1p.
Like I said each to his own-it's just not in my nature.
(Having said that my husband gave away a lovely leather and oak 3 piece suite on freecycle-so there are bargains to be had without queuing.)0 -

ah that would be the lovely leather and oak 3 piece suite on ebay just after0 -
i once did the 6am next sale queue thingy - was desp for a certain pair of shoes but they were v expensive.
gutted to get into the store to find the shoes werent brought out til the next day
to be honest whilst in there i felt like a bit of a scrounger - certain "people" were just emptying entire racks and taking them to the queue without even looking at them.
never EVER again.
if i want something so much from NEXT - i would rather pay full price than go through the horror of that morning. (and its not all about un-ironed clothes - they do have some absolutely gorgeous but very overpriced home stuff).0 -
I was in a queue for the the self service tills in Sainsburys when a couple just walked to the front of the queue and then to the next available till. I did say excuse me there's a queue very loudly but they either didn't hear as I wasn't at the front of the queue or they just ignored me. What really irritated me though was the member of staff who was just standing there keeping an eye on the tills saw them do it and then said to me that lots of people did it because there wasn't a "system" for queues in that area. What sort of system do you need and surely it's her job to make sure people don't do that.Wedding 5th September 20150

Im with you on that, im up for bargains etc but id rather look for them without ahving to fight with other customers just because me and someone else want the same jumper but only left in stock.
Id never be that desperate to go to next at 6am.0 -
Its not worth getting worked up over, sure its annoying. Had it done to me at Sainsburys 2 days before xmas. I used to get annoyed at it but its not worth it I found that out the hard way, they are always ignorant selfish people around and life wont change because you make a scene you often feel foolish afterwards if you cause a stink.
Just bite you tongue and smile and let it go0 -

Lol there isnt a system, its just common that the queue is the system, some people will never learn common sense.0
