Lol well some shoppers obviously have a way to cut the waiting time dow, good on them.
Can i just ask OP was the purchasers worth the 4 hour wait to get served.0 -
What an idiotic comment!
The staff are the only ones who can sort it out without recourse to illegal physical force if the queue jumpers refuse to behave.
They can simply refuse to serve the queue jumpers.
Though why these fools can't have a ticket system I can't imagine.
the staff want people to buy stuff and leave the shop, they don't care if people jump the queue or not.. And for idiotic comments; we'll save that for ticket systems when queuing up to buy off the shelf products.0 -

Half the problem is people who put up with this behaviour while tutting under their breath, because calling them out on their behaviour is somehow un-British.
The correct response to a queue-jumper is a loud, clear "OI! The back of the queue is over there" - usually, they're hoping to sneak in quietly without anyone noticing, so they'll move out of sheer embarrassment.0 -
I find it difficult to believe that anybody is so short of clothing they're prepared to spend 6 hours in total queueing inside and out of a shop in December. (or any other month for that matter).0

Who cares if the OP queued for 4 hours? Yet again someone is being looked down on just because their choice Boxing Day activity differs from someone else's.
I don't blame the OP for being peeved at the queue jumpers, everyone else has had to wait for hours, what makes them think they have the right to push in? I would have said something if someone pushed in front of me. It's not just bloody cheeky, it's downright rude and when the shops are going to be busy anyway, it's not on.0 -

Exactly. Pi55 poor customer service.
They are employed to work in the store and for the benefit of the 99.9% of the customers who have consideration for other shoppers, they should care about queue jumpers.0 -
We went into the Harrogate branch about 1pm, hardly anyone in there, and I have to say what an absolute load of tat, Ive bought better stuff at car boot sales. Tailored jackets were up at the front of the store and needed a good iron, I couldnt believe the state of them.
I did buy a lovely hat and scarf set reduced from £18. to £8.00, and stood in the queur for 3 minutes. Had there been a 15 minute wait, I would have put the things back,
As for the queur jumper, sorry but like you I would have done the same as you and spoke up, and then again when they got to the till I would have then spoken to the manager and let them know.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Why would the staff care how long you have to queue? You either put the stuff back and someone else grabs it or you wait. It will get sold either way..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
