    Hi ladies.

Everyone's progress is looking great and the finished pieces are lovely :)

Had planned to stitch this weekend while rugby was on but didn't get round to it, I got distracted by thighs and bums :rotfl:

Went shopping yesterday at the local outlet place and hubby got me some Thorntons chocs for my birthday (they have been put away out of my reach until the day :D) and he also got me an Orchid for Valentines day. He was going to get Roses on the day but I told him to save his money and get an Orchid that lasts much longer.

Hey all, sorry have been AWOL over the weekend, didn't get to start my new design :(

Observer - I got the sparkly aida in a mixed pack from a stand at the the Stitch & Craft show last year. Sorry that's not much help! It seems to be made with glitter stuck to the fabric, not woven I think that Flower of Scotland's description sounds pretty good! I've used Willow fabrics too and found them very good.

sk00bie1, how did you find the backstitch ? :o and also when you did the backstitch around the flower, did you use one or two strands? I was thinking may be using two strands to make it stand out ??

Observer, I like that sparkly aida too but I couldn't find it on sew and so.

Flat Eric, the backstitch was fiddly but ok, I used 1 strand for it all and followed the pattern pretty much exactly. HTH :)

Congrats to all on your lovely progress as always.

Hope to be back soon with an update :o

Oh poo - I went googling for sparkly fabric last night (as you knew I would) and I found the Ladybird Fairy by Joan Elliott. I am not a fairy person, but I just love this.

Ah noooo.......I should know by now not to click links :o I have now spotted the Cinderella which was above your one, DD and I love Cinderella designs lol.

Regarding the sparkly aida, if you look up 'Lurex' you will find it, there are loads of diferent colours

My favourite to work with is Pearl Flecked White, I tend to use it for fairy/angel designs.

Edit to add: Also look for 'Iridescent'

I just tried and got the same message as you did. Have you tried contacting them? They have an email address and a phone number. I got an alternative number for them though via here http://www.saynoto0870.com/search.php For some reason I can't copy/paste the results but if you copy the phone number into the appropriate box you will get a local number.

Thanks for the help with the threads, girls!
It's not a great pic, as it was taken with my ipad & the lighting seems a bit odd in this room today. The fabric is a pale lavender colour. I did iron it, but the blooming crease still won't come out. Bit scared to wet the fabric as it's hand dyed & I don't want to ruin it.
All I have to do now is find the card that I bought DH. I put it somewhere safe last week. Not entirely sure where that 'safe' place was...:rotfl::rotfl:

It's lovely - well done on finishing so fast :D

I would think the year would be fine on one side tbh, but if you don't want it to look lopsided, why not stitch the year onto the little pot holding the threads or something? I can't make out how many lines wide the brown band round the pot is, but it looks like it could be thick enough to stitch a discreet date on to?

    Love this suggestion!
How funny that we were both making the same suggestion at almost exactly the same time - our messages are posted 2 mins apart! I agree that it can be interesting to see at a glance when you stitched something but not every design lends itself to initials/dates especially the pictorial ones (in my opinion).

Love your album of work - thanks for sharing it

Great minds...:) For designs where initials don't seem right, I always add the details on the back of the frame.
    You have mail, BTW ;)
Lovely design and Polstitches fabric is wonderful - another company I would recommend (sorry :D ) I love the variations on different colours of Polstitches fabric - my favourite is Silver Lining. I am considering doing Mirabilia's Cinderella (#69) as my next "big stitch" and think this fabric might work especially in the opalescent version

Love Polstitches too. Have a lovely collection of fabric from them. They work very well on LK designs.

TellmeitsFriday - followed your link to the ladybird fairy, it's really nice. Weird statement alert - I'm scared of ladybirds!!! I ws bitten by one Aug 2010 and nearly ended up in hospital because of it. I had a reaction to it a few days before going on holiday and could hardly walk. Ended up with a strong course of antibiotics to clear it. Now move if I see one any where near me.

Didn't realise they could bite. Totally understandable that you're now scared of them. Did you still get to go on your holiday?

Ruth-Honey - we did still go away but it took a good few weeks for my leg to go down. Seems so stupid now when I tell people. Your valentine pillow looks lovely, we don't "do" valentines day.

I've narrowed down the designs for the baby annoucement to 2 designs, one is a Tatty Ted design TT115 Sweet Dreams and the other is from an old copy of a Cross Stitcher magazine and is a Patchwork Rocking Horse with a teddy. Will try and post either a link to each or a picture and see what people think - I can't decide.
