SC I am so sorry to hear that you had a fire. I know from personal experience just how traumatic it can be. I'll leave chopping up Cross Stitcher until last then, to give you some time to go through what you have.
Will keep everything crossed for the interview tomorrow - do let us know how it goes - but only if no-one is watching!

Thank you that is so kind could you also keep to one side cross stitch collection too.

Also I don't know if when going though your mags - I have been looking for a pattern - it is a sun and zodiac one - it was for tapestry/needlepoint - issue one of a magazine that came out years ago. Obviously lost it in fire and cant mind name of mag. Only if you have time. I really appreciate you doing this.

I have a free single poppy pattern on my blog. Google "Kincavel Krosses" and then search for "In Remembrance".

    Sorry, I can't post a link because I'm a new member.

    Kell, Kincavel Krosses

ETA I notice someone else has actually linked to it. Thanks, Sweetcarer! :)

Hope you don't mind - I seen your link in another website (f**eb**k). I took a copy of it as one day I might do it and when I seen someone else was looking for it I thought I would send the link.

Hubby had his second interview - they will let him know tomorrow all going well. Fingers crossed.

    Kind wishes to all

    sweetcarer ;)

I ususally mark the centre of the fabric with a couple of intersecting rows of large running stitch, in ordinary cotton, in a dark colour.

I was thinking that I could extend doing this to the specific area I am working on, to speed things up - does anyone else mark with threads?

Hi, I mark up like that, just with normal cotton. I do centre, then quarters, then every 10 in areas with lots of changes etc. I don't find it takes too long, and saves me counting over and over.

Hi sweetcarer, nice to see you again. Good luck to your husband.

Debtdalek is so nice of u to look out for copies for sweetcarer, we've heard bits about her devastating fire over the years and it's the sort of thing we all dread I'm sure.
I 'need' a couple of issues of Quick And Easy, if you're splitting to sell fair enough but I'm more than happy to buy and donate for them if u have them? Tee hee, I'm not usually so cheeky!

Katyliz. I havnt forgotten, will pm you when I know where I am.

well I've had the fist CBT counseling session. She made me promise to do a few things for 'me', I chose stitching sat night, but could only manage a few stitches. Last night was better. The mojo might return:o

    b_e_g - that's progressing well! I didn't realise it'd have so many flowers, it's bigger than I thought, looks really nice :)

sweetcarer - hope things work out for your hubby, glad to see you're back.

23rdspiral - don't worry if you don't have time to sort anything, it was nice of you to offer anyway. Seems like you have a lot on your plate at the moment. I hope you manage to get that stitchy bug back.

I'm getting so frustrated, and I find when I'm stressed I make loads of little mistakes in my stitching. I've applied to 18 jobs in the last 3 weeks and heard nothing from any of them :( I hope something comes up soon as I'm getting sick and tired of being stuck in the house.

OK Just a quick list then - off the top of my head (and on my hands and knees) I can see:

a complete set of the Classic Stitches partwork,
So as you can see it's going to take me a while to sort through them for anything I want for myself but meantime please feel free to make any requests based on the above.

You've got a major task on your hands!

Hi - what was the Classic Stitches partwork? I remember the Classic Stitches magazines but not a partwork. What did it cover? If it's one I haven't got I could be tempted to make you an offer:D

  • Looks like the tulips might be ready for springtime after all.

    Take care everyone

    b_e_g

This is looking stunning and you have made great progress.

b_e_g - still loving the windmill and tulips.

Sweetcarer - lovely to hear from you again. Hope the interview went well for your hubby.

Debtdalek -I have tried the ribbon and it works well - thanks. Now the bad news, I can't unpick the stitching I have already done with floss and blending filiment. Never mind will have to plod on as I was. If only I'd had the ribbon 2 months ago, never mind.

    Here's my 1st weeks update

Quite pleased with the progress on this although think it will slow down significantly now I'm just doing the blackwork.
